Airnimal Chameleon Vs Pacific Reach Racer

Does the Reach have 406 or 451 wheels/tires?
If it's 451, then I would just go with the Chameleon's 520 wheels/tires assuming that the Chameleon can fit on a flight legal suitcase. Note that something in the back of my head is whispering that the Airnimal suitcase is considerably large than 62 linear inches. (66? ... a mind is a terrible thing to lose) If that whisper is correct, then I would have to think harder about the choice.

The Reach is a 451 size. I must check regarding the case as that is very much food for thought. I have the IF Reach but just bought an Chameleon on eBay!

The Chameleon will not fit today's flight legal suitcase.. with the wheels removed, the frame folded with mild disassembly will fit carry-on bags .. the wheels would be checked separately in a box or padded bag... the Delsey case is quite oversize, much like the Dahon Airporter.. you might get away with it, but it is not 62 linear inches.. in the reverse, the frame without the wheels will easily fit a 62 linear inch case, and then the wheels could be bagged as carry-on ..

Just picked up the new steed from a very nice gentleman in Portsmouth. Former professional cyclist and still runs ultra-marathons. You meet very interesting people who love cycling and especially respect folders. Will post pictures and some thoughts soon. Here was the listing I won on eBay. I have to say it's a beautiful frame and pretty lightweight!

Yeah ... sadly you almost never see a used suitcase without an associated bike.

Great idea, though. I think I need to start exploring teh Rubbermade isles in the box stores for similar products. Maybe one of those flatter boxes meant for stacking would hit the magic dimentions between too tight to fit and out of bounds.

But, don't worry, I still have the Hot-Lava Moulton (which I first saw at your house 4 years ago), a Brompton, and Downtube Mini (now my son's bike). Something for any mood.

I have a very funny story for you. I visited a major shopping centre outside of London 2 weeks ago. The local health club/gym had a stand fundraising for charity in the mall. They had a virtual exercise bike simulating a velodrome sprint over 60 seconds with increasing resistance. I was spinning like a maniac until the last 15 seconds and my legs were like jelly at the end. Thought I had done hopeless until I was informed I'd done the fastest time all week and beaten all the young male personal trainers as well! I guess those calves are good for something Alan lol!
PS. I should come over and apply some real torque to your recumbents to test those chains!
