Pretty sure it would also fit in the back of a Nissan Leaf ... of which I've seen about 200x as many as I have Volts.

Are you thinking of taking advantage of the $10K discounts?

The tikit isn't particularly small as folding bikes go - especially considering its ISO349 wheels. Still, one will fit behind the rear seat in a Mini.
Really - two-hundred times as many?

Volts are selling so well they stopped production because dealers do not want anymore until they sell what they have sitting on the lot. At least GM did this summer. Roger

Yes, literally two hundred times as many. Leaf sightings started becoming relatively common here in Portland within a few weeks of their going on sale near the end of 2010, and I see them literally every day. Often I see several per day on my commute between here and the EV-crazed western suburbs (lots of tech workers, lots of eco-sensitivity, lots of money). That's not counting the two Leafs that belong to coworkers of mine, which I also see daily.
On the other hand, I have seen a grand total of perhaps six or seven Volts. Coincidentally, I saw one today, so maybe seven or eight.

Sadly, a Friday Pocket Rocket won't fit the back of a Mini Clubman without putting the seat down :/ An old Dahon Boardwalk will, however...
Looks like the Tern Verges won't fit either. Guess I'll keep the boardwalk around a while longer

That's not what's going on.
The factory where the Volt is produced has a capacity of 60,000 units per year. That is a very big number. Even if the Volt were busting GM's rosy sales goals the factory is *meant* to shut down repeatedly. Chevy is using the excess capacity to retool for the Impala.
The Volt has had a rocky start, but its treatment in the conservative press is really astonishing. All sorts of dead-false articles about how much it costs GM, about the implications of factory shut-downs, about cost to the taxpayer. They are desperate to kill this car. And yet it has the #1 customer satisfaction record, with a bullet, of any car on the market right now.
The Volt has consistently been outselling the Leaf by about 3x. So apparently all Leaves are being sold in Portland. [Note: I've seen 1 Leaf and 0 Volts on the road. So that means the Leaf is, for me, infinitely more common :-) ]
Anyway our killer issue may not be if the Volt can fit the tikit but the fact that it can't fit an infant carseat in the back with me comfortably in the front.
A Clubman is out for me too: tikit won't fit in it.

Please demonstrate! I've tried putting it in a Mini and a Mini Clubman, both failures (for me).
