Pix: SOMA Mini-Velo v Bike Friday

SOMA Mini-Velo v BikeFriday Pocket Rocket v Fuji Absolute

    SOMA Mini-Velo v Mercier Nano

Quick comps made by parking the bikes one at a time in the same stand & sandwiching in Photoshop.

Note the size mismatch: that the top tube of this Nano is 48cm, the SOMA is 53. And the tires on the Nano are 406, while the SOMA sports 451's.

So that's an S/M Nano and 53 Soma? I've been rolling the idea around in my head of getting one of these two bikes, but wasn't sure how the fit would be. I'm 6' and usually ride a 56 road bike. I've read reviews of both bikes, both it's cool to see them actually next to each other. Maybe the 55 Soma will fit ok.

Was the point just demoing the Photoshop job?

Yup they are shorter.. the top tube length is a more valid comparison.. for actual fit .

and only the bike friday will fit in a suitcase, and offers 8 different top tube lengths.

I'm 6' and was able to make my M/L (53cm) a comfy enough fit like this:

No, it's not "all day comfy", although for my short jaunts around town, it's a blast. I don't think I'd want to ride it 30 miles or anything like that, but that probably speaks more to the uncomfortable seat, small wheels, short wheelbase, and crappy tires than fit comfort. None of that takes anything away from my enjoyment of the bike, however!

Bjorke: I was wondering how you did those shots; nicely done!
