Today I Saw a Person Riding a Folding Bike

While I was doing my commute, for the first time in the area where I live I've seen a person riding a folding bike which is extremely rare to see that here. I know that busy cities like Chicago, New York and LA etc...This bikes are very common... I thought it was really cool, don't know I just wanted to share my thoughts...

thanks...

I was out riding my Greenzone yesterday Saturday (November 17), late afternoon on the local bike trail, and seen an older man on a *yellow Citizenbike Miami coming in the opposite direction. As we passed each, we just said "hi", and rode on. That Miami looks like it was a 2009 or 2010 model, and looked great.

It is rare here (Orlando, FL) too to see another folder but including yesterday's sighting, that makes about 3 in the last 6 weeks or so.

Ed

* EDIT: Actually the color on the Miami was not yellow. Citizenbike calls that color "Mango".

Well smallwheeler I live in Florida mainly in Miami. very dangerous city to ride a bike by the way. I was riding so I couldn't pay attention to much on what type of folding bike he was riding all I know we pass by each other I've ring my bell and he smile lol...the bike was silver.

edwong3 I agree that this is very rare here...I've also lately notice that there is more and more people riding bikes, I think it has to do with the economy? Don't know, but is interesting how many people in the past year is riding bikes, allot of this bikes are mountain bikes by the way I guess that is what they like to ride? Don't know why cause this place is flat like the sea LOL...or feel comfortable with.

More folks are riding bikes, and I think, yes, it has to do with the economy. We ride ours to the store often, because at near 70 yrs of age, it's good for us, plus fun.

The majority of lower-end riders are on Mtn Bikes is because that is the most prevalent type of low-cost bike manufactured over the last 10-15 yrs.

It's rare for me not to see a folder in central London. Either chained up somewhere or on their daily commute.
