How can i buy a Bianchi Ladies Minivelo in the US?

Title says it all. I want to get a Bianchi Minivelo 7 ladies bike. They're sold in Japan but maybe nowhere else. I couldn't even find contact info on Bianchi USAs website, but i posted on their FB page. I also sent a message to my local dealer. We'll see what they say but If they're not normally sold here, i doubt they can get them.

Well let's see, a small wheeled bike with a mixte kinda frame... nope sorry , it makes too much functional sense to be sold here in the USA. I can check with my friend at my LBS tomorrow (a Bianchi dealer) but I seriously doubt it's available for the USA market. I really hate to be so negative about it but experience has proven my instincts to be valid. It may be that a 'grey-market' alternative in the form of an online supplier may be your best course of action. But of course that essentially means that "you bought it, you own it"... no warranties apply. However the Origin8 Bully is somewhat similar (more rough and tumble MTB than functional urban commuter) and sells for about $400 retail as opposed to about $500 for the Bianchi. Most local bike shops that order from J&B can get their hands on the Origin8 Bully.

I have purchased some craft items from this site. They sent me a confirmation email that was in Japanese (even though much of the site is in English). I wrote and asked for an English translation, which I received the next day. I got my order in just a few days. Good luck. The bike you want is yummy!

I saw several intriguing bikes on rakuten but was not comfortable ordering from there. I'm very glad to hear that you have done so and had a good experience! I will consider that option.

Has anyone else ordered from https://global.rakuten.com ?

your best bet is going to rakuten, unfortunately.

Interesting site. I just ordered a small accessory for my car. Will see how it will go.

The estimated shipping is by weight and can be $200-$300 for bike shipping to the US. You get the actual shipping cost by email after you submit the order and need to confirm before they ship.

Hmm, shipping is half again the price of the bike. I can't justify that. The Bully in pittsburgh is tempting. The original plan was to build my own bike, but it's going to take a long time to get that done so i was looking at buying one in the meantime, then switching all the parts over to my custom frame when it is complete. I may just stick to plan A and try to get busy on building the frame.

I just bought a mini velo from Tokyobike nyc and I was told that the Bianchi is made at the same factory as they're bike is with the exception of the name and running gear.

I live in Queens, not too far from the Brooklyn & Downtown locations. I may have to take a trip and check one of their mini velos out - THANKS!!!

I'll ask if 1) they agree on shipping overseas 2) by surface mail, and 3) how much it'd cost.

I wonder how compact the KHS/VLLU get once folded.

Lovely bicycle! blog did some reviews of two 20" inch bikes sold by a store called Adeline Adeline in NYC. One is the Wren and the other the Bobbin. I can't tell if the store is open still and the Bobbin Shopper is apparently no longer shown on the Bobbin website but the Wren seems to be going still. A bit heavy but fully dressed... fenders, two frame mounted racks front and back, 3 speed with drum brakes. You might check them out.

The last update from Wren was Oct. 2014. I'm not convinced any ever made it to buyers' hands this side of the pond, nor that they will ever see the light of day again. I suspect they - as well as Bobbin - discovered there's simply no market for a 20-inch wheel shopper that doesn't fold. It's too bad..I'd love to have that pretty drum-brake Wren.

The thought did cross my mind but I have a Cannondale Hooligan on back order that I am considering for the ebike conversion. Thank you tds101 for the compliment I truly appreciate your opinion.
