Sad, but true , a late ambition in life, on a folder

Hi,

Never to be outgunned by a Brompton, on a open road.

At my age I've been completely stuffed by a girl on what looked
like a Raleigh Twenty, but then again she was probably a third of
my age (or less) and probably not much more than half my weight.

I don't mind being overtaken by "normal" bikes but in a form
of reverse snobbery I've decided I don't like being overtaken
by Bromptons and its not going to happen if I can help it.

Well in fact is has, but not on an open road, on a footpath
that allowed bikes with a suggested 10 mph speed limit.

Why ?

Every bike owner or ex-bike owner I've met has expressed
some interest and questions regarding my bike on seeing
it, (as I do regarding theirs), but not Brompton owners.

Obviously I can't avoid it cruising along, but if you ever
overtake me riding a Brompton, and don't look half my
age, I'll give it a go to leave you in the dust, ;) .

rgds, sreten.

One of these on each side would help too: http://www.boc24.de/images/products/350/0111393-1.jpg

I have reluctantly come to accept that any teenager on even the crappiest of bikes is far faster than me. Particularly since it is not the done thing to stop at red lights.

Hi,

When I run you soon get better at any distance a person
hasn't trained for (generally) but for bikes its different.

Its low impact and simply young people are extremely
good at it by default compared to us older duffers.

Little to no excess weight and a lot of relative power.

Obviously, it had a 250 watt electric motor on the front wheel, it's your heart, do what you want...
