Dahon/Tern Pedal Failure

A few weeks ago, the pedal on my Dahon Speed P8 broke in half while I was riding it. Has anyone else had this issue with Dahon folding pedals?

The dahon.com forums are gone due to ownership change but the Tern forums mention pedal issues and a recall

If you are under warranty, your best bet is to contact your dealer. If not, look for good quality folding pedals (there are several threads here about folding pedals).

The problem is that Dahon has not issued a recall. They're still selling these bikes with these dangerous pedals. I could've been killed.

Pick up some of MKS removable ones see how they go..

I'm seeing stress cracks in the bearing support and hinge part of the Brompton pedal ..

Seems, a pedal that folds is difficult to make as durable as one that has a continuous Axle..

add in the demand to keep the cost low as possible , and stuff happens..
