Upgrading a folding bike by adding an electric motor?

Forgive me if I'm posting this wrong. Perhaps I should have put this in my other thread about electric folding bikes. I have been out each and every day on my new folding bike, and I only go a short distance around the neighborhood. I'm finding out quickly that I have let myself get out of shape. Boy, it sure doesn't take long. I would like to take the bike on longer, different journeys but I'm afraid of getting stranded from being worn out. Yes, I know the trick is to go out each day like I am and soon I will improve my physical well being and be able to go farther on my rides. There are many changes in elevation and it sure would be nice to have a little assistant with me to help get over those humps so to speak so I can get a little breather. Believe me, age does take its toll.

Is anyone familiar with upgrading or adding a motor assist system to a folding bike? I have checked with local bike shops, but they really can't give me an answer since they don't deal with or have had any requests of this nature. Any thoughts on this guys? Or is it best to wait for a later bike upgrade?

Cheers
Wayne

this section goes on and on about motors ; http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdispl...Electric-Bikes

all I know, there are front hub motors for 74 and 100 wide forks.

I have a Schlumpf Mountain Drive crank-set, instead, runs through the 3 speed hub twice
for an 18 - 80 GI range.. so I have lower gear ratios ..

work on the meat motor..

I'm working on the meat motor . . . that is if you are referring to my old tired legs :).
