Brand new Dahon Speed D7 missing part? Help please.

Today I bought a Speed D7 after test riding it at the local bike shop this morning. After bringing it home in the car this evening, I just noticed that the frame hinge seems to be missing a bolt or part of the locking mechanism where the frame folds:

Can anyone confirm this? Looks like I'll have to go back to the bike shop tomorrow.

i don't need to confirm it. it looks like you can't fold the bike. you need to go back to your bike shop.

Can you explain what exactly is missing? I'm planning to go back to the bike shop later, but I don't think they're very experienced with Dahon's or folders in general.

Yes take that back to the shop. You're missing the pin that connects the latch to that strut-like part, don't know what it's called. The pin is a friction fit so it's possible it could come out...seems fishy though.
