I read a lot of reviews and looked at a lot of folders and looked at the options. I ended up purchasing 2 Origami folding bikes. It is a new company based in Richmond Virginia. The bikes are actually made in China, but Paul is the owner of the company. One of them has a full suspension, the other is a fixed suspension. They both have 7 speed Shimano gearsets. The fixed suspension bike is 25lb the full suspension bike is 30 lb. I was impressed with all the features, down to the bags, quick release wheels water bottle bike pump etc. and Paul was very accomodating. I am impressed with the quality and features for the price so far. I would reccomend anyone looking for a folding bike, take a look at one of these. The web site is www.origamibicycles.com
Welcome to the forum and the fold richardgood. It is very nice to hear that you are happy with your new purchase. From reading this forum, where Paul is a respected contributor, I have learned about the Origami bicycles. I have not yet seen one, except in images online, but generally have a positive opinion about them.
As good as they sound, however, I must say that I am surprised that you chose one for riding in your motor home. I would think that a bicycle with smaller tires and a shorter wheelbase would be better suited for maneuvering through the confines of such a restricted space. Something like the Upland Storm, as shown here, would seem to be a better choice:
Granted it is made for the smaller rider but with it's 12" wheels and tight turning radius, not to mention the outrigger design for stability in a lurching recreational vehicle, the Storm seems to be the ideal bicycle for your use. Also, while it does not fold, it is such a compact design I think you could probably find room for it the RV and not need to transport it in a tow vehicle.
I don't mean to question your decision, as you are obviously pleased with the Origami, I am simply intrigued by the selection.
