Dahon Ciao D5 - safe to ride off high curbs with its low-curved frame? (travelling)
I'm looking seriously at the Ciao D5 for my wife, but I'm also worried the shape of the frame will scrape against curbs if she is not careful.
Does anyone have the bike and can comment on this?

At least you can see it as its ridden whether or not it will work for her. Just tell her to ride it carefully and in time she won't have to worry about curbs.

think about it this way .... on a regular bike the lower side of the chainwheel is the lowest part .... and although that would be different for the Dahon Chiao or Tern Swoop ...
when was the last time to scrapped a chainwheel on a curb ?
In other words ..Do NOT worry ...
all my customers who have bought either one of them are truly satisfied and happy with their bikes

I have a Ciao P8 and have scraped the double kickstand against the curb going over it. Other than that, the Ciao is great. No issues in the 4 years I've had it.
