Easily removable toe clips (with straps) for the Brommie
I not long got back from my ride, and I was wondering if there is an easily removable toe clip that would work on the Brompton pedal. I have always used toe clips, strapped version, and would love to use one on my Brommie. I'm always having to realign my shoes on the pedal as I ride, which is a bit of a pain at times. Does anyone know of such a product? It would be nice to have something that can snap on and off the pedal when you need to fold the bike up. I just finished checking various bike websites like Performance, and Bike Nashbar, but no luck in finding anything.
I have used Power Grips on my bikes off and on for years. They provide your foot the grip of a clip with the flexablity of just a strap. They are very adjustable and when set up right are easy to get your foot in and out of. A couple of pictures of what they look like. You can buy them as just the strap to use on your pedal of a pedal and strap combination. Roger
Consider MKS QR pedals , then you remove the whole Pedal .. pop a different one of same QR type, on.
Badda-Bing , Badda-Bang.. do the Power grip to one pair. not the other .
because of the way the left Brommy pedal folds it is difficult to alter It
and not interfere with the way the pedal fold functions.
Un screw them and replace both . the QR socket part stays on the crank arm
they have clipless QR pedals so there is that.. get a platform alternate pair. as well..
2 pair of these? http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/mks-espri...als-prod23310/
1 of these? http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/mks-urban...als-prod31463/
or, http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/mks-urban...als-prod28359/, for toeclips
there's an ezy version of this pedal too http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/mks-lambd...als-prod17511/
though not stocked, for convenient display, here, on that site.
+ a pedal wrench does the removal job , albeit with a bit less instantaneousness .
powergrips don't fit the brommie pedals without some drilling, you may find on old threads.
However, I combine powergrips with wellgo quick release pedals - and they are a dream. Take the pedals off when you park, fold = extra security.
Got mine on UK ebay from Taiwan, similar to these
Also can get close to the clipless experience but don't need cleated shoes..
