Strida With Cracked Heasdset on CL - Is This Okay?

I saw this bike on CL. Says it is great except for a crack in the headset. There is a picture of it in the ad. I'm totally unfamiliar with Stridas, but it looks pretty interesting. Will this crack be a problem, performance/longevity wise? Is it easily or cheaply repairable?

Thanks.

Hi, if you haven't found the Strida forum then you may consider posting there. There are many helpful and knowledgeable Strida owners in the Strida forum, http://www.stridaforum.com/forum/

Hey Gray, unfortunately I would have to say to pass on this strida, because it's one of those older mark 1 or 2 models which where made in the UK before the design was bought out by ming cycles. You will have an extremely hard time finding any parts for it even if you are on the strida forums anyone with spare parts and that bike would probably not part with any of the pieces incase it happens to them. If you really want to own a strida your best bet would be to just buy a brand new 5 series, at least you can get spare parts for that when things break. Also the 5 series stem part there is entirely welded together and not some plastic part, so the chances of that piece breaking would be zero with the new rediculously over engineered design.
