My wife was looking at this, so we are wondering if it would be a good by. Is anyone familiar with this bike please.

there are quite a lot of posts on here about DT bikes, they're not bad, I have one. I am not sure what year it is, and the colour's not for me. However, even not knowing anything about it, it would be worth a hundred bucks of most people's money

Probably more of a 'hello' than a 'good by' .. that's a bargain if it's in good shape.. the picture looks nice.. the FS IX is a 9 speed .. if it only has 7 speeds, something is wrong or out of adjustment.. the bikes are very comfortable and stable to ride.. but, they are pretty heavy (probably heavier than your Brompton by a few pounds), and the fold's a little messy.. so tossing them around in the folded state, or picking them up to move might be a chore.. I had the FS VIII for years and used it everyday to run my dog .. pretty solid bike.

Yeah, great price! I've had my VIII FS for 9yrs or so. It's heavy, but I kind of equate that to being well made. It is a bit clunky to fold, if that's something you were going to do frequently, like a daily commute on transit, but for an occasional stuff in the trunk it's not bad. I got mine while in the SF Bay area, for the occasional BART ride, and because my apt complex wouldn't allow bikes on the balconies. It fit up against one of the walls, unfolded, without taking up much space.

Buy it!
I have one. Ride it more than all the other bikes I own. Very comfortable. Easy to source parts etc. Don't expect it to fold like a compact folder.
I would snap it up if I were you for $100, unless frame issues like cracks
