This is the titanium 58T chainring. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...0/DSC_1024.JPG This is the 42T ring. You can see the relatively tall teeth. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...0/DSC_1028.JPG Here is another recommendation: I rounded the sharp square edges of the seatpost clamp yoke to avoid it digging into the seat rail and possibly making a weak point by denting it. |

Are there still interested parties for a next batch? I did q quick scan of this thread and identified these possible interested members:
maunakea (post #75 ) 12boy (post #121 ) spudman1 (post #126 ) towndock (post #142 ) Richbiker (post 223) (drawings sent) bendembroski (post #224 ) tikman1313 (post #241 ) (drawings sent) plus 2 more from private correspondence. The seatpost alignment issue has been solved. In my 2nd frame at least. I haven't heard anything specific from the others yet. I am not making anything out of this - it is purely my pleasure. For the 1st group buy, we clubbed together to get Peter Reich 2 sets of forks and stem risers. I thought we could skip that this time round. The others also kindly made me a donation for all my effort but I don't specifically need anything. Their donation helped me pay for some of the development cost of the 1st frame (which rides fantastic!). So if you want in, make yourself heard. Frame+fork was previously quoted at about $1000. Extras such as seatpost ($65 IIRC) (an essential item), stem risers and other bits pushed the totals closer to $1400 each. I intend squeezing them on price. Almost everything is customisable. In the group buy of 6 frames, only 2 were alike. I can come up with cash in two weeks, though. Thanks a lot in advance. |

Please include me to the batch or to a next one with longer 457mm forks.

Can someone recommend me some nice disc brake setups? I am a complete novice with them. Must be cable, short pull.

Jur. I need 50 posts to reply on your private message. Yes I'm interested in the full package $1400 but I will have cash only on 05/07/15. Would you please PM your email this way I won't need to publish mine. Thanks.

The 457mm dimension, is that the steerer height? The last batch was 440mm.

My bad. I forgot the exact number. I meant the longest fork for the largest 20' wheels.
|
Then I prefer a regular fork. Thank you.

Jur,
Cannot respond to your PM (I don't have 50 posts yet). I may be interested in a TI Swift frame - what is the time frame? 120 days from now ideal for me (crazy busy summer ahead). Meanwhile, I'd love to see the drawings. I'm really enjoying seeing the new TI Swift builds, and hoping to learn from that. Thank you, Keith |

Jur,
I got your pm but I can't respond to it as I haven't got enough posts. I bought a BF Pocket Rocket and don't have the budget for two folders, so regrettably I cannot get a frame. Congrats on your work and to those getting these very cool frames! |
OK Here's an updated list:
maunakea? (post #75 ) 12boy? (post #121 ) towndock (post #142 ) (drawings sent) Richbiker (post 223) (drawings sent) tikman1313 (post #241 ) (drawings sent) shroom (drawings sent) plus 1 or 2 more from private correspondence. Question marks are still to be confirmed either way. Don't worry if you can't make this batch, I have built up a good relationship with the builder and am able to apply some price pressure even if you want to do a single buy later, especially as we now have a lot of drawing to suit the majority of choices. In order to hammer down frame size, each party will need to furnish either their preferred frame size top tube length or something similar so we can spec top tube length. For reference, the original Xootr has a 55cm top tube. That is essentially a size medium, perhaps good for medium sized people. Myself I am 5'10 so I prefer something longer, so for my own one I added an inch to that, for 57.5cm which is spot on. The previous batch most people went with 57.5cm, save for one at 55cm and one at 59cm. Then the preferred wheel size is next plus the preferred braking system(s). Also the rear dropout width, the dropout style and the belt joint, if preferred. |

I'm still in!
Hi Jur,
Sorry for the radio silence. Tax season plus work has gotten really busy. I still want in on this order. I have the frame drawings and will reply to you offline via email with my order preferences. Thanks for doing this! Rich |
Hi Jur. Are you ready to place our orders? Is it possible to get braze-ons for fenders?
Thanks. |

Maunakea confirms
Jur, I'm still in. On the main tube... I would like the longest main tube that will still fit in a Flite 31 suitcase (which may mean the standard main tube since the main tube length is the tightest fit when my steel Swift is packed in a suitcase). Suitcasing the bike and kit are critically important.
Can you pack your L size frame with 58 chain ring in a suitcase like a regular Swift? I plan to use Shimano Alfine 11 IGH and Avid mech disc brakes, F and R. So... the forks and rear triangle must have the bosses for disc brakes. |
I now have over 200km on my Ti Swift and have nothing but praise for the frame. The bike rides very well, and since I have a long torso and long arms I wanted with a longer top tube and stempost which I got. By far the most comfortable bike position of the 5 folders I own.
I have done some minor setup tweeks since I posted last, but nothing of substance. I mounted a Garmin Oregon 600 and am using that as a bike computer. Debating on whether or not to add the cadence sensor. I have one on another bike and it seems like it makes the Garmin into a more reliable computer. Haven't been able to mount a rear rack yet, the rear disc brake is in the way of the ones I own, so I ordered one for discs that should be here by next weekend. The ultimate goal for this bike is to get the chance to do a tour or two in far-away locations, and that works better with a rack. Didn't some of these get to the NYC area? First they get lost in shipping and then they just disappeared. I hope that means that folks are having too much fun riding them to post pictures... I am very interested in seeing how the belt-drive frame looks when finished. |
My bike is almost done, pictures will follow

Jur will you be confirming the next batch soon? I am interested but how long will I have to decide? In bed now and will read up on more details tomorrow.
|
Jur, I am unable to respond to your PM as I have only a few posts. I am unable to get the TI frame now but perhaps if you get another batch later I may be able to get one. thanks, Ron
