weight limit of bike?
I just bought a used Dahon folding bike and was curious as to it's load limit. It is a "Stowaway" with 20" wheels and a 3 speed hub gear with a Sachs Torpeado system. On the seat stay it says "PT 032" and on the top of the bottom bracket it is stamped DH 3401 106. Can you tell me when it was made? How much weight for the rider? How much weight for panniers? Thank you for your help. Do you know if I can get a copy of the owner's manual? JOhn

The "Dahon Stowaway instructions" link doesn't provide load/weight limits. You can view it for free in an appropriate browser.

I will go to a local Dahon bike shop and see if they can answer the question. I sent an e-mail to the company and never got a reply. John

just ride the bike and enjoy it. periodically check the seatpost at the seatube. if it doesnt appear to be bending or cracking then its fine. the upside is, the more you ride, the less you'll weigh.

Thanks for the information. It turns out the web document company let me download the item for free today. It was NOT about my stowaway bike. As it turns out the seatpost is straight and true and the bike rides well. I don't like the folding joint (it feels not as sucure as my Greenzone folder), but I put a pipe Ubolt on it and it has no flex. Great pic of the "Stowaway". By the way my bike is light blue. John
