Has anyone gotten the Trolley Rack?
Do you like it and how much did it cost you?
How about the luggage truss and kanga rack?
I want to get a bike basket that I could put my dog in so she can tag along with me sometimes but I'm worried about the baskets that attach to the handlebars affecting steering but don't know if they would work with the kanga rack either.

I put a luggage truss on my Dahon Mu Uno to hold my Ortlieb handlbar bag. It works very well, and the two quick-release systems are indeed compatible.

It is nice having the weight lower and not swinging around with steering. However, I'm still trying to get used to seeing a stationary handlebar bag -- my little brain expects to see the bag turn with the bars, and when it doesn't, I get a very weird sensation, especially when making slow tight turns. (Just to be clear: this isn't a complaint, but I am struck by how much I notice the lack of motion.)

Looks like I'll just order the Dahon truss since it's cheaper and still fits the Tern. Guess for the basket I want to get I'll need the connect bracket too.? But the Tern Kanga rack is cheaper than the Dahon Vario rack so I'll go with the Kanga.

am i missing something here. can't you wheel your Tern bikes just like Dahon bikes ? why the need for Trolley.

I find it awkward to wheel when folded so I think I'd prefer the trolley.

Dynocoaster, how are you liking the tour bag? How much stuff can you put in it? (I've always thought it looks like a cooler.) I'm a little surprised you didn't get the black truss to match your black bike.

We have a Trolley Rack on our Link D7i demonstrator. IMHO, it's best use is for rolling the bike through train/bus stations --- and we don't have many of those in Oklahoma. But it's so cool that I had to have one to show to customers. The cover is stored in an attached bag that is not shown in the pictures. Also, the rear fender stays need a little modification to install the Trolley Rack. Hope this helps.

It's taking me longer to decide which accessories to get than it did to decide on the bike. So far the only thing I've bought besides basic tools is this lovely pannier I got from REI at 20% off using my member dividends.

I'd say the luggage truss would be the best because you can quick release the bags on the front and the bike would still be well balanced without overloaded panniers, and no heel strikes because of the low lying bags. Unless you really need to ride through the subways and multimode daily the trolley rack is pretty pointless. For those one time carryon needed Tern sells the minibag to strap it over your shoulder for those few times. Heck Thor sells them for $45 not sure but it's probably thinner than the dahon version that costs double but you would only need those for rare occasions. https://www.thorusa.com/accessories/bags.htm#elbolso it's a better solution than the clunky trolley rack if you don't always need it.

I'm struck by how forward the luggage truss seems to extend from the bike over the wheel: this would create a fair amount of moment on the mount given it's length out. Is there a particular reason why it extend so much?

Most bikes have brake and gear cables that could interfere with the luggage if it was too close to the headset. For a dog you could look into a front rack to lean the weight on and a clickfix bracket called caddy https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/rixen-and...851-prod21945/

To help keep the basket/bag for the dog in place.

Not sure what you are saying here. This may be your situation but some peopel may need to get the bike innside a building, into elevators and stuff dayly, and some are not at all comfortable carrying the bike even a few meters. Using a bike (especially a foldingbike) as a mobility aid is not uncommon (I have done it myself). I am sure you would not expect them to carry it?

A lot of peopel complain about not being able to roll the folder when folded (especially cheapo folders). I would really like to know if this rack could be fitted to other 20" bikes than Terns.

Unfortunately this would only fit the Tern Link lineup and nothing else, I read the tern forums and someone asked about this rack for the other tern models and the tern guys said it'll only fit the link models. And for me if i'm just going to bring the bike up the elevators from the front door to my cubicle, I would rather roll the folded bike dahon style. Tilt the seat backwards and push since it is such a short distance I don't really want to add the weight of this rack and wheels setup into my bike just for such a short distance. I like it clean looking instead of having a rack and wheels stuck on it permanently. This rolling style would probably work with even cheapo folders as long as they fold in half and the wheels are almost parallel.

Hey guys I just picked up a Tern CarryOn Cover

It's pretty well though out and executed, I'm very pleased with its design.

It's a tad bit small to fully cover my medium Dahon Silvertip, but it works well enough.
I got this because of its light weight, I think it will be perfect for carrying around and taking on the train. The actual carry bag is ~348g and the saddlebag is ~143g.
