I saw this guy on Manchester Piccadilly rail station with a T bag on an S bike.

I got an S bike and I need a bigger bag.

He seemed ok, a crack didn't open up in the earth's crust and swallow him up, and the station didn't get struck by lightnin' or nuthin'.

So, I thought what the hell, I will try it. Maybe he had it rolled a bit flatter, but it did a job.

I didn't ask whether he fitted on a S bag-frame or a T bag-frame

Anyone got any ideas, feedback, suggestions ?

the brake levers hanging up on the back of the bag frame [12"top to bottom] as you steer the wheel, would not be such a safe situation,..

then perhaps you may gain back some of that height with a riser bar , but then strike the ground when the bar is folded down .


Eyeballing the graphics of the 4 bar types It appears the H bar riser at its top clamp is about the same height as the S Bar, But..

having the hinge (3+)3cm further up, .. when folding the bars down, there is a bit more clearance between the handlebar end and the ground,


if adopting a low riser MTB, instead of the flat (or M bar) with the H front part. (breathing in, )

And, You might like the bar sweep angle options too .

I use the bigger bag frame on my S Brommie. The brake levers don't get caught against the top of the frame. I used the shopping folding basket. When the basket is empty it would blow against the brake levers and could conceivably get caught behind one of them. This never actually happened. For me this ceased to be a problem when I spaced the handlebars a bit higher using one of those stem extenders for folding bikes, like the AberHallo.



But even without the stem extender the basic frame was no problem:

The T-bag works fine, just don't overfill it.

thanks guys. AFAIK the T-bag is longer, front to back, as well as taller than the S-bag, so, if I keep it low it should ok. I'd forgotten about the kinetic pannier rack though. I want it so badly, more than can be justified by reason. However, time to do the math...

Fit a dahon androes stem extender. Maybe not ,but I found I could use the touring bag with drops thia way with it mounted vertically.
