Flamingo front luggage mounting system - same as Brompton

I have enquired from Grace Gallant. But perhaps some Flamingo owners on this forum already know from experience.

Also, whether Brompton sells the minimalist female part of thd frame for home-made bags where the frame is not needed. I do nit ser it on the Brompton website.

BTW, as far as I can tell there is no Flamingo website selling parts and accessories. Do Taiwanese Flamingo owners buy everything from brick and mortar shops? Makes it incredibly inconvenient for users eleswhere!

IDK . only have the Brompton.. in the past I've seen workarounds posted online ( DIY search )

ranging from making the same kind of threaded piece on the head tube that a Brompton Brazes on,

to modifying the bag support block and using Hose/Jubilee Bands around head tubes ..

Oh you are asking other Clone owners N/M

VAUDE (Germany) also sells a decent looking bike bag.

I looked it up because I saw a $35 piece of garbage here in Hanoi with the Vaude label, thought it odd so went to their catalogue. It is fake.

My search continues unsuccessful. First world quality design and construction at high prices sold in 1st and 2nd world, and knock- off third-rate stuff in the 3rd. My fantasy of buying made in Vietnam (a lot is) bike accessories, bagging them and hawking them direct to bikers in Canada is fizzling. Funny, it works in clothing. Friends buy factory leftover garments in Cambodia cheap, sell them in Montreal cheaper than local retail. Doesn 't seem to work for bike stuff. I am sure there us some business reason.

There are some decent quality knock-off backpacks but no decent quality knock-off bike stuff.

that's interesting. Because some of the highest quality camera bag are made in Vietnam(Camera Bags, Camera Cases, Digital Camera Bags - Think Tank Photo) but designed in the US, they're not cheap though. so they're certainly capable of making high end bags.

I often find with the time spent and risk of buying defective product, shorter life span from poor design/imitations, hunting for extreme bargain sometime can end up costing much more than just get the top quality stuff and be done with it. This will often save you more in the long run.

I can only comment on the merc bike. The front bag mount was interchangeable with Brompton bags i had a merc bag which was ok but a little thin material to be as durable, but the bag, bike and accessories etc only costú330 new.

If the mount is not compatible with Brompton headtube mount it's a simple job to fit one, its only two screws in the head tube. Drill them and fit if need be.

You will not find a minimal mount without the brompton frame. as AFAIK they are all one piece. Ie you buy the frame and then chose the bag style. Once you have the frame you can fit non brompton bags if you wish, it's easy enough to lash something up.
