Cool! Maybe we'll get to meet up eventually.

I'm actually on the fence about it. I MIGHT go against what I said and go 3 speed, but currently it's slated to be a SS.

The seller couldn't ship for the agreed $60, or even the full S&H of $180. The order, with my blessing, was cancelled.

Oh well, no Origin8 Bully.

Was this the Origin 8 Bully advertised on eBay shipping from Israel?

Yup! And the seller promised shipping he couldn't get. I could have refused the cancellation and made him eat the cost, but I'm not that kind of person. I'll wait until I see another Origin8 Bully, or hopefully someone in the forums offers to sell me one. I really want one,... Sooner or later.

I thought the shipping was exceedingly low; I'd have thought $300-$600 would have been more likely.

Hmmm... I was looking at that one as well... I'm glad I didn't pursue it! And I might not anyways because I suspect the frame is just a little too small for me.

I'm 5'11. Are you over 6' tall? I thought it was supposed to fit the adult rider.

Pure Fix Chief. It's a 26" tire fixed-gear freestyle bike. Very stout build, with a high bottom bracket. I mounted a spare 29r fork and have no problem with pedal clearance.

No, I'm 5'11" as well. But thugpipe gave me some tips about his Bully, and from the sounds of it and the geometry, it's probably a "medium" sized bike at best. It would probably fit me if I tried, but given that there's no way to actually try out the bike in advance, I figured I'd pass on this one.

I just gave out the original J&B importers product page links to Ozonation. There is only one size frame for the bully.

I guess, after all my wishful thinking & attempted purchases of a Bully, I should be grateful I didn't get one. My Lombardo Power2000 shall suffice then,... Thanks for the legwork fellas!

from what i was able to gather, the maker was either gazelle, peugeot, or a sub of raleigh (phillips). not terribly important really. good chance it was made in 1966 based on the original wheelset that came equipped with an SA 3 speed dated 66. deciding who the maker was may be down to which head badge looks the coolest. (actually i'll probably design my own badge..)

the black bracket you see under the 3 speed shifter is stem clamp. it adds a significant amount of rigidity to the long nitto technomic stem.

i also have the original fenders and rear rack. i had the whole thing media blasted and powder coasted black with a diamond clear™© coat added. the wheelbase is 950mm. effective toptube is 520mm.

i toyed with the idea of having a top tube added. but, ultimately, couldn't make up my mind which was probably for the best anyway. the bike is very stable as is. adding the brompton front mounting block is still likely, though.

the wheelset is comprised of a 349mm recumbent front wheel from a p38 lightning and the rear is a brompton wide range hub with 15t and 12t cogs. i considered adding a derailleur, but found that i liked the current set-up. manually switching takes less than 5 minutes. ideally, i should remove a chain link to switch to the 12t. there is some slack in the chain as the dropout isn't quite deep enough the take up the slack. the bike is fast and very responsive without much flex (surprisingly). that may have something to do with the massive lugs. the overall weight without the fenders and extras is approx 7.5kg(16.5lbs).

having a wide range 3 speed takes some getting used to, but i learned pretty quickly to love it. you wouldn't use it to cycle through gears the way you would normally with a 3 speed. it's basically a steep hill gear, a cruising gear, and a speed gear. big steps between gears.

instead of modifying this bike any further, i'm working on building a new one. fanciful i know. but... we'll see.

@smallwheeler - fantastic! # 4 made me drool though, since it reminds me of the Origin8 Bully a little.

Wow very nice smallwheeler.

That is the Raleigh RS30, isn't it? Perhaps a non-folding version?

That's what I'm thinking. Looks like the RSW Shopper. Frigging beautiful, I'd love to find a non-folder like that.

My raleigh shopper

Latest purchase from work, donated to the charity where I work at a bike recyclers, we have lots just sitting collecting dust and I saw this ones potential, paid £15 bought as seen and had it delivered to me same night, started to strip away parts and wire wool the chrome to remove pitting which comes of no problem revealing a very nice bike underneath, just years of grime and dust to clean off it and its almost good as new, will probably sell it to make a profit then once I have done a few I may have enough for another moulton but something nice and modern, just awaiting delivery of my old moulton as a starting project.
