Which folding bike is really worth the money?

Bromptons do fold compactly but aren't very easily maneuverable on the trolley wheels on anything other than a smooth tiled surface.
You could consider bikes that balance on the two main wheels after folding. That is, grab the seat and push. These don't fold as small, but they are much easier to maneuver over imperfections on the surface.

look at Keyven's posts .. there are 3rd party accessories made to improve that for the Densely Populated places with abundant public transport.

Relatively speaking, maneuvering foldies that balance on the two main wheels is a lot easier than the trolley. It's a relative measure. I'm sure the Brompton could be made easier to handle with the right modifications.

My BikeFriday Pocket Rocket is really worth it but I suspect this could be a money problem.
Anyway, it disappears under me and is fairly easy to pack for plane travel.

Since you've sampled a Brompton, you could get a cheap or second-hand folder just to try it out on your commute, see if folding bikes in general work for your situation, and make a judgement call from there. Like it, but not the bulk of the cheap folder? Brompton! Works well enough for you? Use it as long as you can stand it and then perhaps splurge for something like a new Dahon.
I go back and forth, between a folder and lockup bikes on both ends of my commute by bus.

I love my Xootr.
It's heavy and slow--but that's cause I have a 12 lb rack on it, and I'm fat.
Downside, it's a closet folder--folds thin but bulky.
Brompton's hard to beat for sticking in a car boot.

Worth it, I think it will vary, depending on purpose, budget, etc. How frequent is one going to be using it? Pleasure or business? What does one need, want? What will be your savings per month/year if applicable?
In my case, while I can easily see the more expensive bikes earning their keep in 1-3 years, in my case. Unfortunately, my means are less than that. I'm not going to wait and save 5 years, for something I might not live long enough to purchase or some thug will be happy to relieve me of, in seconds, that then I'm worse off, than before I bought it.
It's no different, than people who think $20 or less keyboard is "good enough". However, I earn my living on a keyboard, use it 8+ hours a day. Health, ergonomics, comfort, something that will last 20 years, and just feels good, ends up being cheaper in the long run.
