Wheel sizes for moulton mini, (from the moulton mini book) I just bought - front rim, sturmey archer E2J (Endrick profile) size 2 juvenile range in chrome steel with 28 plain spoke holes, or Raleigh E2J in chrome with 20 plain spokes on front only - spokes, Raleigh rustless 14 gauge, front hub, either sturmey archer small flange chromes steel 28 hole or SA small flange chromed steel 20 hole, rear hubs - SA AW 3 speed wide ratio, with 14 tooth sprocket.

Tyres originally - Dunlop 14x1 3/8 (37-298) with block pattern tread, later machines fitted with Raleigh Record 14x1 3/8 (37-298) when Dunlop tyres were harder to obtain, tyre pressure 55p.s.I
My bike came in Flamboyant green, flamboyant royal carmine and carribean blue or flamboyant sky blue.

Plenty more info if needed, the books a gem of info!

well, i already knew the size. to clarify what i meant, i think the mini in the video has a new 305 size wheelset. also, if you choose to keep the 50 year old wheels, the only tire you will find that fits is this one.

Tyres for Moulton Moulton Mini 14" or 16" Wheel New | eBay

it's a pretty heavy, sluggish, old-school kid's bike tire.

our erstwhile buddy elvis shumaker did a dandy makeover of an old bickerton. the front wheel on that bike came stock with the 14/298 wheel. he bought a new 305 wheel as part of his upgrade project. it fit perfectly.

i'm only telling you this because it's a solution that's guaranteed to improve the ride quality substantially. not to mention, increase your options for tire selection. primo comets would be great on that bike.

before:

after with 305 front wheel:

nice from the crank backwards, hate the frame and bars but each to there own, I love something more elegant, love your little black bike you posted on another link, just read the build up back in the archives, thinking of colours to do my moulton in, my local powdercoater has some lovely colours but his new "chrome black" is gorgeous!
