Have a look at the thread I posted late yesterday in this forum entitled 'Almost Done: Tuning a 2004 Jetstream XP'. There's plenty of modding that can be done (Heard of the Birdy modded for 20" wheels?) and some of it is actually a damn good idea. Wheels are usualy a good place to start. Cranks, derailleurs, you name it.
What kinds of things were you after?

I have 3 folding fixies one converted froma dahon classic 3 one converted from a 16 inch yeah 6 speed and one made fixed from a 14 inch roll n fold. The Dahon was the easiest simply remove the 3 speed wheel and replace it with a 16 inch BMX wheel fitted with a 13T track cog and shorten the chain to fit.

Maybe because they are folded in someones garage for 10 years or so before you get them.
