    My near deaf experience

So today I wake up at 6:00 AM, of course I am not gonna wake up but my right ear itches slightly. So I do what the male instinct tells me to do...irradicate the itch. So I itch me ear then suddenly my ear pops but after it pops my hearing in that ear goes away completly, and there is tremendous pressure on my ear. So I am now a little scared because I don't wanna lost the hearing in that ear. So I do what my male instinct tells me to do...sleep it off. So I roll over and go back to sleep. I wake up at about 9:54 or somethin' and the pressure seems to be gone...so I slowly raise up and BAM! its back. I curse to myself, jump outta bed and call Katelyyn...she knows all kinds of cool stuff so she might now how to cure my annoyance. But then horror sets in...shes in California...crap. So I pray she picks up her cell phone and of course she doesn't. So I think to myself "wow this really sucks". Then I start thinking...I do that diver thing that clears pressure. It doesn't work. CRAP!!!. So now I try somethin' else try pushing on other areas around my ear. Then there is this one spot that when I push on it it makes the pressure worse. So me being the complete idiot I am I push on it harder. Then BLAM...no actually more like....pffff then my ear is clear...and I think to myself...what the $*!#? Just thought I'd share that.

    That's screwed up lol

Maybe you had an ear infection. I hate those, the worst part is dropping that fluid stuff into your ear, its like a torture method.

There's something disturbing about the word BLAM being associated w/ an ear problem.

Did you listen to really loud metal before you went to bed, Metalhead? Did any fluids come out of your ear?

    Why is this so fascinating?

Go see a doctor to be on the safe side. Pressing and having things pop inside your head are never "good" things.
I would hate for you to lose your hearing over something like this

I agree with Raiyn see the doctor maybe its nothing better to be safe than deaf. I am almost totally deaf in my right ear due to an infection I got in my twenties that built up pressure in my ear blew out the ear drum. I never went to the doctor until it was to late. They tried to repair it but it didn't work.

Could be a build up of wax, go to your Dr. and they will look, if that's it they will clean it with warm water and a spray bottle. When the wax packs on the ear drum it doesn't vibrate, (that's the BLAM) then when it shifts off the drum, it does vibe (that's the pffff). Too sudden to be infection, probably from sleeping on you side.
Those voices in your head aren't real, but they have some great ideas

I had something similar happen...I had an infection behind my ear drum, and puss was building up behind it...when it finally released the pressure the next morning I had a pillow full of puss...it was oh so dandy.

When I say "blam" I don't mean BLAM!!!!!! It was more like....pffff....and no I didn't listen to loud metal before I went to bed. My ear is just fine now and it has shown no more problems.

And christie133? If you don't think this is interesting then don't read the frickin' topic ok?

Thats awesome...I once had to get my ears cleaned by a doctor they were so plugged up. Put a hose into my ear and a little cup under it to catch the runout...then sprayed in a water/hydrogen peroxide solution. The runout was so nasty...big earwax chunks and all. Gross stuff.
