For a moment I thought this might be a warning to not leave your dog in the car while you go shopping. Then I remembered that Windy doesn't have a dog.

    Nathan's gets my vote.

We eat Hebrew National. I was having a picnic last year and thought we didn't have enough with hamburgers, dogs (of course Hebrew National) and some sausages. I stopped at the store on the way home from work that Friday and all they had was Oscar Meyer. They were absolutely horrible. It had probably been 20 years since I had an Oscar Meyer.

If you've been having them pre-2009 you like hebrew national dogs because that's what they were; now they're kirkland brand

There used to be a local brand called Shultz hot dogs, made in Portsmouth NH, but they went under a couple decades ago when there was a fire in the plant. After that it was either Kayem or Jordans. A few years ago, however, heir of the Shultz family started back into the business by lending the Shultz legacy to Shields Meat and Produce out of Kennebunk ME to make a hot dog as close to the original Shultz recipe could be remembered -- the original recipe died with the last generation and the plant. All these are natural casing franks.

If you ever head up to ME and you like your hot dogs, get off the highway at York and head north on Rt. 1 toward Ogunquit. In Cape Neddick, there's a hot dog shack called Flo's, which makes a regionally famous hot relish. Get the Flo-dog: steamed dog and bun, Flo's relish, mayo, celery salt. Yum. Limited lunchtime hours and very limited indoor seating, there's picnic tables outside and attitude from the servers.

    Nationally, Hebrew National dogs.

'Round these parts it's Koegel's or nothing. Best dogs and viennas (skin on) that exist bar none. They are locally made here, so I don't know the distribution situation. Might just be a Michigan thing.

    If they're Japanese components, it's not a gruppo. It's a gurūpu.

If you find yourself in Portland, Oregon you'll need to go to Otto's Smoke House. They make all wieners and franks in house, and cook them on the sidewalk for your eating pleasure. You can also buy them by the pound and take them along with you. Their sausages are the best anywhere!!!
Check them out, they even ship within the US. https://www.ottossausage.com/store

I love a good hotdog. Love Heb. Nats, Nathans, a local place called Hirams (since 1932) and of course, a dirty water dog (mostly Sabrett) off the corner of Broadway and 42 (or any other corner). When I ride in Central Park, I always stop at Grays Papaya for a dog. Only thing is it lies in my belly like a brick which makes my ride home a bit different.
