Monty Python fans?

I am not really sure where to put this but, while reading everyone's sigs, I notice quite a few Monty Python quotes. I don't use one in mine but I do get a chuckle seeing all of them. How many Python fans are there here?

Monty-who?

This is from my favourite Monty Python's Flying Circus skit:

Quote:
Pither: How do you know so much about cycling?
Gulliver: Well, I'm making a special study of accidents involving food.
Pither: Really?
Gulliver: Yes, do you know that in our laboratories, we have developed a cheese sandwich that can withstand an impact of 4,000 pounds per square inch?
Pither: Good heavens!
Gulliver: Amazing, isn't it? We have also developed a tomato which can eject itself when an accident is imminent.
Pither: Even if it's inside an egg and tomato roll?
Gulliver: Anywhere! Even if it's in your stomach, and it senses an accident it will come up your throat and out of the window. Do you realise what this means?
Pither: Safer food?
Gulliver: Exactly! No longer will food be squashed, crushed and damaged, by the ignorance and stupidity of the driver! Whole picnics will be built to withstand the most enormous forces! Snacks will be safer than ever! An simple pot of salad dressing, treated in our laboratories, has been subjected to the impact of a 4,000 pound steam hammer every day for the last sixteen years and has it broken?
Pither: Er....well...
Gulliver: Yes, of course it has...but there are other ideas - the safety straps for sardines for instance.
Pither: Here, that tomato just ejected itself.

Another Python Fan here.

Quote:
Man: Well, what've you got?

Waitress: Well, there's egg and bacon; egg sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg bacon and spam; egg bacon sausage and spam; spam bacon sausage and spam; spam egg spam spam bacon and spam; spam sausage spam spam bacon spam tomato and spam;

Vikings: Spam spam spam spam...

Waitress: ...spam spam spam egg and spam; spam spam spam spam spam spam baked beans spam spam spam...

Vikings: Spam! Lovely spam! Lovely spam!

Waitress: ...or Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam.

I think I've seen the Quest for the Holy Grail about 100 times or so. It's too funny!

My favorite film skit is the soccer match between the German and the Greek Philosophers.

and my favorite Python song is Bruce's Pilosophers:

Immanuel Kant was a real pissant
Who was very rarely stable,
Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy begger
Who could think you under the table,
David Hume could out-consume,
Wilhelm Freidrich Hegel.
And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as schloshed as Schlegel.
There's nothing Nietzche couldn't teach ya
'Bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates himself was permanently pissed.
John Stuart Mill, of his own free will
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.
Plato, they say could stick it away,
Half a crate of whiskey everyday.
Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle,
Hobbes was fond of his dram,
And René DesCartes was a drunken fart
"I drink, therefore I am."
Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed,
A lovely little thinker but a bugger when he's pissed!

In a bad french accent "I fart in your general direction!"

Holy Grail is a great movie. My wife is hispanic and extremely catholic and didn't appreciate the "Life of Brian" at all. I got in trouble for that one.

Huge Monty Python fan. I'm old enough that I was watching it on PBS when it was in its first run.

You guys do realize that Python's on Broadway, right?
The Holy Grail is now a silly musical called Spamalot
Hank Azaria (voice of Moe the bartender, etc. on Simpsons) is the star.

Yes, I heard about it a couple of months ago. I'm still not sure what to make of it.

I came here for an argument! That's just contradiction.

edit:
Found this link, based on the Argument sketch, where you can have an interactive virtual argument with Socrates. http://www.mindspring.com/~mfpatton/sclinic.htm

I'll look and see I can find somewhere on the web where you can participate in an interactive virtual Spanish Inquisition.

I love the holy grail, the black knight is the best. I missed the chance to see spamalot in chicago, before it went to broadway Life of Brian highlight " look for the bright side of life"

Dressed in drag is usually what killed me in the series.
