I have this fairly mundane Trek that is now my training bike. I don't know that it is all that ugly, just plain and a little old. My father bought it off of the back of a wrecked car. The previous owners were driving cross country, their car was totaled in an accident, they didn't have a way to take the bike back home so they sold it to my dad. Turned out it fit me fairly well so he gave it to me. I replaced a broken spoke, put my old saddle, pedals and stuff on it, and a set of Gatorskins that I already had. It isn't fast but for early season training it handles hills well and 700Cx29 tires handle rough pavement better than 700Cx20.
