    takeing fan out of power supply?

    it is a antec 750 watt but its only has a load of 75 watts do you think i can remove the fan to make it zero noise?

    Wrong forum. Fans are important in an application like this.

    I dunno, but the fan wasn't blowing on about half the dead power supplies I've replaced.

    Get an iMac. When the fan on mine kicks in (almost never), it puts out a deafening 10db.

    You can maybe replace it with a slower fan. I would not remove the fan completely without monitoring temperatures under various conditions. I think some monitoring software can pull power supply temperatures from the motherboard.

    I tried a smart fan like that on an old Athlon back in the day. The CPU heated up too fast for the fan to catch up... and I fried my last tower.
