That's why you learn the Karate game, the Tae Kwon Do game or the Jeet Kune Do game.

Is the knock out game an issue where you live or are you just falling for racist scare tactics?

Here's a video on it from 2013. I haven't heard much about it lately. Some tips for Windy at 2:00.

The knock out game was a scam and nothing else. Someone finally did some research in to it and couldn't find a single incident where it had ever occurred.

What about the various videos of people being attacked?

Just random violence without a catchy name?

This is one of those things that the media would like you to believe happens far more often than it actually does, or like Johnny says eloquently, random violence with a catchy name. It probably happens less often than teenagers beating up the homeless.

And they probably wouldn't have even done that if he just hadn't tried to get his wallet back.

I've never heard of it happening around here but in this area upwards of 50% of the people have carry permits.

I hate the Source, but The Post has a bevy of articles featuring people being attacked at random for no other purpose. Knockout Game | New York Post

I suspect random unprovoked attacks have occurred before they got labeled as "knock out game" attacks. Sometimes rumors get started and then become urban legends. Many years ago, locally, a story started that if someone flashed their car headlights at you and you flashed back you would be shot as part of a gang initiation. It never happened and the police had to issue statements several times about it, but the story persisted for years as a urban legend.

Absolutely. In the '80s I on my way to work, peacefully riding up a hill along Wilshire Blvd in L.A. Suddenly, a teen overtook me on his bike and ran over my front wheel knocking me down. There was no doubt that it was intentional.

I pulled myself back together and rode on. On the level ground, I overtook him. When I did, he stiff-armed me into traffic, We both took a tumble when my rear wheel tacoed from the lateral stress. I screamed at him and he just shrugged his shoulders as if he didn't comprehend English.

Since the area was a known gang area, MS!3 to be specific, and the last time I had dealt with the police had only added insult to the injuries I had received (Grand Theft and Assault weren't enough of a crime to warrant even taking a report) I didn't call the cops. I still had to ride through that neighborhood every day so I decided to not make enemies. The point though is that there were indeed random unprovoked attacks before the "knock out game."

Flakebook told me that the "knock out game" had been replaced by the "shoot a whiteman or cop" game.....get with the times on your public hysteria man.

It's not just teenagers who do this. A few weeks ago, two jack-holes beat a homeless man and the urinated on him. The two are brothers, with long histories
of violent crimes. Both are known to Boston Police, and MA state police. One is 38, the other is 30. Link to story./ This is the type of thing that makes me wonder just how long we all have, really. As one local radio host put it,
it is probably a safe bet that these two are not PhD candidates at MIT.

Back on topic: I have no doubt that "The Knock Out Game" is, or was, real, but I also have no doubt that our totally objective
and responsible news media (cynicism fully intended there) hyped it up for every dimes' worth.
