New York guys and gals, know of a train that goes to Hartford

I'm aware of Amtrak, but I didn't know if there was a cheaper or quicker alternative somewhere. Also, being able to take the bike on is a must.

thanks ahead of time

It's been a while since I lived in West Hartford but if I remember you can take Metro North to New Haven and transfer to Amtrak there. It might save some $$ but I'm not sure about the bike thing.

Hartford: "New England's Shooting Star."

When did all things New York related become the domain of the fixed gear forum?

It is related to cycling because he wants to take his bike on the train!

My sister used to take the train from NYC and then instead of taking AMTRAK, she would take Bonanza buslines to Farmington or Hartford. I don't know if that helps any, but she said that it always worked out easier to do it that way or just take the bus the whole way.

I don't know what their bike policy is. If you skip the train and just take the busline, it's $39.90 roundtrip NYC > HTFD.

Good luck.
