Oprah's Bra Intervention

I am in the twilight zone. For the last 10 minutes I have watched Oprah's Bra intervention. Her and a couple chicks are going across the country fixing women's bras. So far they have said boobs and breasts about 50 times and giggled a lot.

One lady even groped another lady and then laughed. She also stuck her head up the other ladies shirt. All of this in the hour after kids get out of school. Let Howard Stern try that and he would be in federal prison!

lala 05-20-05 03:14 PM

You go, girl!

midgie 05-20-05 03:18 PM

Did you notice that you never actually saw a breast? The giggling is more just a nervous or uncomfortable laugh. Its unusual when another woman grabs your boob, even though its more common now.

You can't even compare this with Howard Stern, this is educating most women of the correct bra size.
And since the school girls are out of school, they can learn too.

This is how those women work. What Not to Wear has made a SUBSTANTIAL difference for how I would dress. If I hadn't of heard about them, I wouldn't have the great clothes I have now. I'd kill for them to look up my shirt and give me opinions on what I should be wearing.

It's not even worth it to compare to Howard Stern. He's a disgusting old lech who doesn't give clothing advice. What's the point in comparing to Stern?

The fact that there is a double standard.

Whoopsie! Here they are giving her a snuggie. These silly girls.

midgie 05-20-05 03:45 PM

What double standard?
Again, did you notice they weren't strippers flouncing around petting each other.
Oprah wasn't making crude or indecent remarks.
Nobody was bent over being spanked while sticking their head up someones blouse.

I don't watch Howard Stern, but I've got nothing against him, Talk to the religous right. I didn't take him off free radio or latenight TV

Well, I guess we can always hope. ;)

Of course, for a man, this is seen as an exotic no-no. Women touching other women! Ohmygod!

For women, this is a totally helpful show that in no way is in bad taste. Women benefit from the show and from the demonstrations. For the men, everything went WHOOSH! Over their head! Since they haven't a clue as to how to dress women, how to deal with women except as sexual objects, and how to view this show as women all over the US (and probably the world) viewed this show- an education as to how to properly dress oneself so that we don't look ridiculous when we go out in public.

Please. Someone would have to be seriously obtuse to think that this show in any way resembles a Howard Stern show.

Wow. You must know me pretty well to know all that about how I think.

;)

Hmm... I don't watch Oprah. And I don't watch Stern. And I've only worn a bra once but there was a bit of alcohol involved. But I'd just like to add that I giggled immensely the time I learned to type "80085" on my calculator. Oh... and I also saved a lot of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico! :D

randya 05-20-05 06:02 PM

Bbo Guccione made a lot of money publishing pictures of women touching other women...

First off if you ever really paid attention to stern you all would know that he doesn't do much of anything indecent it all of his lackies and guests that do and say the "bad" stuff.

Karldar 05-20-05 06:54 PM

Seemed pretty obvious that Ranger was using Stern to try and demonstrate that there is a huge divide in what's acceptable for whom. So he didn't pull it off, big deal....

I must say, it's nice to see that Oprah got Trinny and Susannah to help her out with that. I'm getting sick of American TV copying British shows and ruining them. Bleh!

*blink*
Ok, I'm a guy. I really, really have to ask.

Girls can wear the wrong bra size and not know it?

As a completely inept guy, I have accidentally purchased and worn incorrect sizes of shoes, socks, pants, shirts, boxers, and briefs. In no case did it take more than five seconds to realize that the article in question was, in fact, not my size.

Sorry if this is insensitive or offensive or anything but I am really curious now and am in-between girlfriends [1], so I just have to post.

[1] In the same way that Austin, TX is "in between" the sun and the the distant orbit of Neptune.

Actually, I kept getting numb toes on longer rides until I realised while shopping for new socks one day that I had in fact picked the wrong sized socks the last time.

How many times have you seen people obviously riding a badly fitted bike? Wouldn't it be cool if they did a roaming bike-fit intervention? How about a show called What Not to Ride?

midgie 05-20-05 07:35 PM

Most women do wear the wrong sized bra. Theres your number 32, 34, 36, 38 and the letter
A, B, C, D, DD, EE, found out theres a G(thanx Oprah)

Most women wear a bra thats to big around 32,34....etc. Or the wrong size cup A, B ....etc
Example Wearing a 34 B, should be 32 C or 34 A depending on the particular woman.
I actually have to watch the whole show later tonight and see how to figure the correct size.

[edit] Its a little more complicated than a guy picking the right sized jock, S-M-L

zonatandem 05-20-05 07:42 PM

Who is Oprah???

wabbit 05-20-05 08:15 PM

Did they show any guys wearing a Bro or a Mansiere?

They do 'fit clinics' at the department stores. Lots of women walk around in bras too small for them or whatever. They think they can still wear the same size they did before they had two kids or whatever.

My problem is being a weird number- 35, not 34 or 36. It just figures!

That pic doesn't do either Susannah or Trinny justice. I probably wouldn't consider them "hot", but if they wanna make out some time, I wouldn't turn 'em down....

This thread sucks on many different levels.

classic1 05-21-05 05:46 AM

Is that still from a 'women in prison' movie?
