2004 Raleigh Talus, 2001 Motobecane Vent Noir (Custom build for heavy riders)
man, that is one of the first crashes I can proudly give a 10 out of 10 on the "man that's gonna leave a mark" scale.
They should have known problems would ensue since the wheelbase wasn't long enough to handle well. YOu need the front to rear distance to be longer than the left to right for remotely useful handling. So in this case, the best bet would have been to use tiny rear wheels that are powered using skinnies, and a big super-fat front tire...however then you have the issue of weight loading. so it's pretty much a massive engineering PITA to make a speed-stable couchbike.
They get huge points for having the balls to even try this though.
I can't believe some of the things people think they will actually beable to pull off without getting hurt.
Nice video though
Judging by all the flipping and the 200 pound couch crashing on them, I think at least one of them had to have been seriously hurt. Heh... I probably shouldn't be laughing about that one.
It looks like it actually landed on the one in the black.. ouuuch.
