After teaching 4th and 5th grades for the last three years, I decided to go back to teaching high school for next year. I do love elementary, but I don't seem to have the patience I used to have when I taught it years ago. So, it is back to high schoolers. At least I will have 10 weeks to change my mind set and get prepared. Wish me luck!

BEST OF LUCK Ms Vicki!! You'll relish the change. I remember my HS Senior English teacher, she left such an impression on me. I'll never forget her. You'll have such an awesome experience preparing to send these young minds off on their own!!

Good luck! The best bit is going to be in a few years when you get to have this year's kids again. *grin*

Goodluck and thanks for teaching our children of the future. I'm with cycleprincess too, I remember a World History teacher I had and she left such an impression on me that I still remember her like it was yesterday. Have a great summer off too!!!

Good luck. My Dad retires this week after 20 years of teaching high school Agriculture Mechanics.

Good Luck to you MsVicki(I highly doubt you'll need it though)
High School students would be challenging, I know I was a challenge, getting me to class or even to the school for that matter.

I hope you are blessed with fun, intelligent, eager students.

Teachers can carry guns in Texas, right... as long as they're in plain sight.

You don't need luck.

You're gonna kick high school ass!

Be happy you don't live in washington. Us, washingtonians (or as I call us washingtoneites) are crazy motherfluckers. Most teachers wish I was dead.

good luck!!! I bet the change will be great.

I just met the AP and some of the teachers at the school where I'll be teaching next year. There's such a great feel to the school, and everyone seemed so cheery (a huge change from the school I just left). I'm excited, but sooo nervous because the job will be very different. Like you, I'm thankful that I have a couple months to prepare... I'm also nervous about the elementary practicum that I'm doing this summer in a year-round school. It's been so long since I've worked w/ the little kids--I'm worried I'll make them cry!

And metalhead, I'm SURE your teachers don't wish you were dead!
