What A Day...*Sigh*

First off, I would like to say Happy Memorial Day and thank those who fought for the freedom we have today and those who fight for us overseas in the Middle East.

As everyone celebrated, went to parades, cook-outs and what not...I was at work. I am a poor college student on summer break and working at a Shell Gas Station as a cashier...Fun stuff eh? Ha. Not only did my manager forget to fill the safe with quarters, nickels, dimes, pennies, etc...I had to go the whole day without change in my drawer...The worst part is I have a big window looking out onto the road and I saw so many bikers today...Sigh...Anyone have these days where you just feel jealous of those people? I looked outside and I really wanted to be on my bike ...Gotta hate those days...

you'll be laughing after you graduate. Right now it's a bit like cycling - to achieve your goals a little pain and suffering is required.

Don't run red lights, wear a helmet, use hand signals, get some cycle lights(front and rear) and, FFS, don't run red lights!

Your day will come where you get to play and then you'll walk into a local store to get a snack from your ride and you'll see someone behind the counter just like you were a couple years ago and you'll remember.

I've been where you are. Working while others have holiday fun can kind of suck, but hang in there, big guy. Some day soon you'll be out cycling. The wind will be at your back. The late afternoon shadows will be spreading across the golden landscape. And you will have the greatest appreciation for your new-found freedom. Good luck!

It will all pay off in the end... my days behind a counter are over... and I graduate in a few days... life is good.
