They love being on the bike but they won't pedal!

When I was a kid, I would take the family dog, a poodle/rat-terrier cross on rides in my bike basket. She loved it! She'd perch in there on her little haunches, front paws on the rim of the basket, tongue and ears flapping in the breeze. It's like dogs and their intense desire to ride with their heads out the car window.

A neighbor of ours had a black lab who liked to ride on the rack on the back of his motorcycle. That was always quite the sight to see!

There's a guy who rides near where we play ultimate on Saturday with some Schnauzer-y little dog in a child trailer. They both look like they're having a blast -- it's great!

We get that reaction a lot when we take the boys for a ride. The biggest responses usually come from the women though. You know how it is with dogs and babies. Oooohhh did you see those puppies??? They are sooooo cute! We're trying to figure out how much we could get for renting the dogs and bike out to single men in the area.

There is a guy here who I have seen him around a few times. He rides a recumbent and tows a BOB trailer from it - his whole rig has got to be something like 15 feet long. The crowning glory is his little dog, which gets the BOB to itself. He's a great dog and grins at people as they toodle by. You just have to smile back.

Cute picture!

In the town where I live, there used to be a big guy in a tiny sports car who used to drive around with a huge St. Bernard in the passenger seat. They would ride around with the top down, and the St. Bernard would be kicked back in the seat and would have one huge paw hanging out the window. He would stare at the people who looked at him with a big doggy grin on his face...it was hilarious.

Track him down and get a picture!!! Or, maybe not. I have this great visual in my head that put me on the floor laughing and I don't want to ruin it!
