    texas talk

    ok, my friend is from texas, she said the proper way to spell y-all is ya-ll we said no. she said were not from texas so please if your from texas help me out. its y-all right?

    Actually, it's spelled "y'all" with an apostrophe, not a hyphen. Y'all is a contraction of "you" and "all". Ya'll would be a contraction of some word starting with "ya" and "all".

    The only people from Texas that I've known who've spelled it ya'll have been idiots.

    Not "Haven't you heard?", EventServices...it is "Ain't you heard?"! (Oh, and we in Texas usually say "cain't" instead of "can't", too. And some even use a double negative in your last sentence to make it "You cain't hold people to rules no more!"))
