ok, my friend is from texas, she said the proper way to spell y-all is ya-ll we said no. she said were not from texas so please if your from texas help me out. its y-all right?

Actually, it's spelled "y'all" with an apostrophe, not a hyphen. Y'all is a contraction of "you" and "all". Ya'll would be a contraction of some word starting with "ya" and "all".

The only people from Texas that I've known who've spelled it ya'll have been idiots.
