Since when did some of our members think they knew all the things going on in my head? I am not "deep" into cycling? I should know how to handle issues...??

I thought this was (and it was) a forum about bikes, riders and things that happen whilst riding. Now, nearly every time I post to help, comment, or query, I am besieged with the all-knowing put-down and threads wind up a frustrating mess.

WTF?

Rant off, flame suit on. Bye.

What ARE you talking about? The KQRS thread? Someone insulted you and you retorted. Is that all?

I think it has something to do with "average age".

No offense, but it is the younger people that act like that and think they know it all, about 80% of the time. Those, say, over 30 or so aren't "typically" as anal and beligerent.

Try going to a typical forum about computers and/or games and such and its 20x worse.

My main forum is a computer forum with a much higher average age (probably 60% are over 30) and that forum is very mild and very little of that kind of thing happens there.

Well, yeah, that kinda set me off, but more often than not there's this "King of the Forum" type that hovers and pounces on any perceived "weakness" to call out this and that, and to generally call into question the right of the OP to have whatever opinion they started with.

Or something.

Is this still valid, Dr.?

Some people take their PHDs and cut them into rolling papers so they have something to sprinkle their carpet into.

I just did a quick look and that's all I could find recently. It didn't seem that much to me, is all.

I don't know who this mysterious Opinionatrix is of which you speak, so I can't comment any more than that. I was just curious.

If you spent 5, 6, 7 or more years of your life obtaining a PhD that rendered you unemployable, you might be a cranky internet poster too.

Internet Forums are like bars, except they usually attract different people. I personaly thought there were more *******s and drunks then there were people with PhD's on this forum, although granted you could have a PhD and still be an *******

When you work in academia you learn the only thing PhD stands for is Pile it Higher and Deeper. It seem like they get focused it to they own world and can only think of themselves. In one department I sat on the fence between two groups of Professors can say you learn real fast how to stroke egos and not get hurt.

Just remember most PhD's know a lot about a little and some times can't see the big picture called life as they have been deprived of it for so long to get were they are now.

Sorry my little rant on "Smart" people not being as smart as you think.
