- congrats! in a single post you have managed to:

1. offend an ethnic society

2. offend omnivorous/vegan feeders

3. post in the wrong forum

4. incur the wrath of the moderator

moderator: offtopic, trolling post by newbie

I'm with BOB. No clue what "miked" means.

I believe he means "microwaved". As in "hey, just toss it in the mikey for a coupla' minutes, it'll be fine". Personally, I love leftover Chinese food, and the smell that emanates from the "mikey" while it warms up just adds to the enjoyment.

I will admit, however, that microwaving fish in a communal microwave is disgusting. In addition to the terrible odor during heating, it leaves a taint that lasts for days. I don't like my microwave popcorn to taste like fish, but tastes differ.

What happened to "nuked" being the proper slang for microwaving when used as a verb?

Well, "nuked" is fine. But saying that in the same breath with "Chinese" may rub some folks the wrong way. You could be accused of being a warmongerer, or of subliminally suggesting that we "nuke those Commies!". And all just because you wanted to heat your lunch. Be politically correct, say "miked". Or be meek and yielding, and just say "heat up".

I imagined a little microphone pointed at a chinese takeout container, and Krull sitting at his desk pissed off about it.

If I knew where Krull worked, I'll order Chinese delivery and send him lunch for the rest of the week.

Chinese food is not bad in the microwave...wait till you get someone nuking shrimp or kimchee in the microwave.

...and I believe the term to use for microwaving is "burnt" since it seems nobody can not burnt anything on a microwave.

Mike, I'd like to offer you an olive branch, which you can mix with some shrimp and kimchee. Place in microwave at 1/2 power for 45 seconds. Season to taste. Inhale deeply of the emanations. You will then forgive me, without even needing to hear an apology...
