I'm asking you all a favor to cross your fingers for me for the next 2 days (maybe just mentally, don't hurt yourselves!). I'm taking the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE, the boards) Step 3 tomorrow and Wednesday. It's a 2-day test, 8 hours a day, and if I pass that means I am licensed to practice medicine in the US. This is Step 3 (I took Step 1 and 2 during medical school), the final hurdle. I've been studying for this sucker since April. If I fail, I will have to pay another $700 to take it again, which I do not want to do at all.
So wish me luck. I'm so scared!
(I hate when people complain about how much money doctors make - they don't know how much crap we have to put up with. Lawyers have to take and pass the Bar ONCE, we have to do this OVER and OVER again. Of course we need to make more money! We have $250,000 of medical school debt to pay off! Grrrrrr.....ok, I'm getting off the soapbox now).

My fingers are crossed and I'm hoping you'll pass. If you do, do I get a free prostate exam when you get your license?
On a more serious note, best of luck. I have a daughter who's studying for a masters (military history) and I know how hard she's working and how much she's sacrificing. I can't imagine how difficult your schooling and testing must be.
