Need advice on Verizon Wireless phones

My 2 year plan is coming to an end soon and I will receive that $100 credit towards a new phone. I currently have an LG phone (I think the VX6000) and it's pretty decent.

I plan to stick with LG, but am open to other phones. Anyone have good recommendations/experience with any of their phones?

I'm looking at the VX8100 (mainly because it'll be free). I've seen the VX9800 (I think they changed the name to "V" now), but it's too bulky....and I really don't need a phone that turns into a spaceship.

I just want a phone that has decent battery life & really good reception.

Any suggestions?

The new Treo 700w is coming out in January. I'm on T-Mobile, but seriously considering switching to Verizon for the new Treo.

I just went through 4 Motorola E815's in one month. They continued to randomly restart. I went back to Verizon after the 4th one and they gave me an LG VX8100. The LG is great. No problems, at least not yet. My advice....stay away from the E815.

After going through Sanyo and Samsung phones with Sprint, I got an N-Gage with T-Mobile and loved it and became a Nokia fan. You'll also want to see how your phone measures up on the radiation scale:

I have the 6000. You can also spring for a bigger batt.

Because my current phone is 2 years old and it's in bad shape.....keep dropping it and buttons aren't as sensitive as they used to be.

I would love to be contract free. Is there anyway of being contract free AND getting a new phone at a reasonable price at the same time?
