In about a week, you're going to hear about some type of murder/suicide in a quiet suburban home in france...

I was wondernig about that. I classified as being one of those "didnt see what it was really clasiffied as being a meaning saying it was bad" and i had no idea what WWN was. The story also has more meaning to me due to a organization i work with.
Life is about hanging onto what you think is important and finding out what really is important.

    Online dating scares me...

One of my friends tried that a while back...eventually I told her to knock it off before I have to pre-emptively kick their asses before they even get to have their first offline date. Pretty much every guy was a creep and she had to have me help her in getting rid of them. It got old after the 5th guy...given her choice in guys IMO was pretty bad...but it seemed trying to find guys online only made the odds worse.

...oddly enough my dad found his current wife online....and it seems to be working fine for the most part. So I guess it's a mixed bag overall.

Either way, I'm still a bit weary on it....people can be totally different online than offline, so you aren't always sure that the personality you see on the screen is what you'll see in person.

For my dad, I have no clue. He was a big MSN messenger nut though, so he could have met that way.

For my friend, non dating. She pretty much met them all through ICQ. I think it was just a case of people randomly chatting up with local strangers.

Pretty much it was a case of the guy getting pushy towards the end of the night, and she calls me from the bathroom...so I either go there and innocently annoy the guy into leaving, or come up with something creative (one guy actually tried to hit on me...that got pretty effed up really fast...why people think I am gay is beyond me...but it gets annoying after a while).

For meeting folks online, then meeting up offline all cool....I've done that, but nothing along the dating lines. Actually I think I met some folks offline, then online before....kinda funny how that goes

"What....you're that dude??? Really??? C'mon, ye pullin me leg!!!!! Out with it, imposter!!!"

Exactly...kinda like in real life...often the good folks don't go around hitting on every single thing that has matching chromosomes.

so when someone is busy, they're a wierdo too?

C'mon gudel, I thought it was pretty clear....sheesh.

Basically what she was describing was the online version of the guy at a bar that wolf whistles and hits on every single woman that walks by.

A friend of mine told me about how he was going to finally meet this woman he "met" online.

I told him he was nuts and begged him not to do it.

They're happily married for 5 yrs now with a great little kid.

    Go figure.
