    Musicians

So who out there plays an instrument?

I make attempts at classical guitar.

Also recently purchased a mandolin, that currently I do not have access to. I hope to play some good bluegrass tunes on it, with my friend on banjo.

Have considered picking up a celtic folk harp I saw not too long ago. Always thought they had one of the most enchanting sounds of any instrument.

I have a few guitars. I'm trying, quite unsuccesfully, to evoke a sembelance of a 'blues sound' out of them. But I really enjoy finding the derelict forgotten pieces and bringing them back to life. Just finished up with a 40's era Harmony Lap Steel that has so much character it's a mojo of it's own.

Ever heard any John Fahey? Not blues particularly, or really anything. Quite a distinct sound. Friend of mine always says it sounds like he came from the moon.

I play guitar, bass, drums, keys, laptop, and I sing. I also write my own material and have engineered recordings. I don't play in a group anymore, but I am known to make guest appearances with some of my friends' groups from time to time. We have a great music scene down here.

Dobro (well, a knock-off). I try to play bluegrass, but usually end up sliding into the blues. Terrible musician, but it's fun.

    What kind of mandolin, Satyr?

No, that's a new name to me. I'll have to check in to him. Thanks for the turn-on!

I have been playing guitar for 40 years this year.

I always liked the sound of a hammered dulcimer but don't play it myself.

Guitar. Also a little piano and saxophone.

I play violin, of course. I also play piano. I have a guitar and a banjo, which I can play a little. I know how to play viola and cello. Does pennywhistle count as an instrument? I can play that, too.

Guitar here, too, and a little bass.

Strat through Carvin Vintage 33, Jazz Bass through Ampeg B100R.

And my Larrivee, through nothing at all...

Used to play a Strat Ultra through a Fender Twin. Looking to pick up a Dr. Z to replace the Twin (too sterile for my taste).

I don't play an instrument. Can't carry a tune in a bucket. But I bet I could impress you with my listening abilities.

    ||: Seems to me we did this before, but it's always fun to repeat :||

French horn, mellophone, bugle, trumpet, Eb alto horn, Wagnerian tuba...you get the picture. Also recorder.

That's not a tape recorder, it's what they played before the transverse flute became popular. Kind of like msviolin57's pennywhistle...I used to go to a lot of Ren Faires.

Several of the Scouts in my troop play trumpet, so we have a decent bugling corp.

I have been trying to figure this out for quite awhile. It is a very cheap Gibson F-5 knock-off that I purchased from my guitar instructor in what he called a "bro deal."

I cannot find any information about the manufacturer. I think it is a Chinese company, called Crystal.

I rather like it, but since I mainly play classical guitar I have little skill with a plecrum.

Still a lot of fun though, huh? A friend's got a Gibson Sam Bush mando. Terrifying.

Flute is my musical weapon of choice.

Althrough my friends make fun of me due to me being a big guy holding this tiny instrument.

Reasonably comfortable with acoustic guitar and harmonica combo, along the lines of Dylan and Neil Young. Less skilled with electric guitar. And for you blues harmonica players, a bad joke: I suck at cross harp...(maybe I'll make that my new sig).

(EDIT) and a smidgen of recorder and pennywhistle...thanks for the reminder msviolin57
