    Grizzly industrial

I have returned from hibernation, after researching like a mad man for a new toy. Grizzly seems to be a good vendor...

Does anybody have any experiences with grizzly they could comment about? Fast shipping? CUstomer service? etc.

The saw was about 400lbs, it was partially assembled and packed in 2 boxes. No problems with damage. It was shipped by oak harbor freight, who charged me $20 more to put it on a truck with a lift gate, because I don't have a truck dock at my house. Same thing with the jointer which was lighter. But overall no problems, and I get the impression they would take care of you if there were problems. What are you getting?

Oh yea i heard they dont even help you get the item off the truck. Does the freight shipper call you asking if you need a lift gate? I would...
Unless maybe I can get some strong friends to help. Once its on a handtruck, im set to go.

nice little milling machine. Is 3/4hp typical in a machine that size...seems a little low, but then again, I don't do any metal working. I think when you order it they ask if it is going to a residence, but Oak Harbor freight called me when it got into town.

3/4 is plenty probably. Considering these are generally geared low, except in high range. I am going to be replacing it with a 1.5HP treadmill motor though, so this will hog metal.

So they ship it to a freighter, who brings the item to their nearest terminal. They then call you to ask if you need a liftgate and schedule a time?
