People just need get over it!

Had a falling out with "friends" (real friends don't cut and run) after a drunken fight I had at someone's apartment. TWO YEARS ago! I still regularly get hatemail because of it. Any similar situations?

It wasn't even with them! Just a friend of a friend. The problem was, according to them, that at the time, I carried a pocket knife which came out of my pocket during the scuffle. I picked it up, put it away and all hell broke loose.

I see. They're harboring resentment over a simple misunderstanding. If they can't let it go, time to find a new crew. And take satisfaction in knowing that they still obsess over something trivial from 2 years ago...

I do. Anymore it is just funny that grown "men" can be such children. They turned enemy that night, and haven't been friendly since. I am with a far superior crew now. Yes, Siu, we were at a party.

If they're still sending hatemail 2 years later, their lives are crap and you should rub your success in their face.

Then forget them. I wouldn't trust them. They sound like a bunch of trouble makers who are bored and decided to stir up trouble by bringing up the past. They are part of your past not your present so don't let them affect your future. They aren't worth it. Don't waste any energy on them. Don't give them the power to provide unhappiness and upset in your life. You know you did not intend to use it so that's where the honestly lies. Within yourself. You are worth more than the negativity they cast your way. Celebrate that you did not end up like them, having to drag up things like this to keep themselves entertained.

Yeah....one of my ex-friends still does that over all things, a girl who was playing petty games. At one time she made advances on me, and I turned her down...mostly since I honestly did not like the kind of person she was (I could tell she was manipulative right of the bat). Sadly, she managed to get her tentacles around one of my friends instead. Then a few months later, she starts bugging me again...and this time I shoot her down really hard.

Basically she lied to him, and told him I had sex with her....when I got them all together, and told her to describe my "instrument" or the surrouning areas....well she could not.

Despite that, he's still being an ass....oh well I just filter all of his email to a special folder for days that I really get bored....no point in trying to patch things up with someone who refuses to grasp the truth. On a side note he did leave her eventually....oddly enough he realizes now that she was manipulative, but blames me for that as well.

..oh well...drama is as drama does.

Best you should be like me and have no friends at all. No fights, no e-mails, no phone calls. Just me and my bike.

And my red stapler.

It is not so much email, but notes left under the wipers, car antenna bent, air let out of the tires, things like that. They think they're being slick, but I know who is doing it, and they're my only enemies. Back when I had AIM and the internet at my apartment, I would get nasty messages from diffeent screen names. It amazes me the lengths that they go to to try and get to me. It doesn't really bother me much anymore, but when they first started, I would get mad.

wow, you're talking restraining order here, maybe you want to think about even installing a cam near your car or wherever they do things to you. I think this is a bit more serious issue then wondering why the fight still goes on..good luck with that!

To paraphrase Church:

You don’t need friends. Y’know why? You’re trekkie820! Knowing other people just waters down the experience. Live the dream, buddy!

Feel free to make this your daily affirmation. I doubt the guys at Rooster Teeth would mind....

Get some photographic proof of them vandalizing your car, then go to the cops.

Here's my "Friends Story":

About eighteen months ago, I was at a friend's house, and he has (or had) a Myer's Parrot - a bird about the size of a blue-jay, which he lets fly free in the house - if you can imagine a 2-year old with a pair of 1" dykes - the beak on this bird is a fearsome thing!

I'd been there most of the afternoon, and the bird had kept out of my way, but as I was about to leave it flew into my face, and I really thought it had taken out my right eye! Intense pain, and blurred vision - rushed to the nearest emergency medical centre - everyone just about to go home, but the doctor took a look at it, and diagnosed a very badly scratched cornea, and sent me to the nearest large hospital (Mass Eye & Ear in Boston) - the EMT had given me some eye drops, which helped, but I waited nearly 5 hours to see a doctor. Diagnosis - badly scratched cornea, treatment, ointment & eye drops etc. Luckily I didn't have my contacts in - the doctor said I was lucky not to lose my eye. She explained to me that the reason why it was so painful, is that there are an enormous number of nerves in the eye, and although painful, it does mean that it's very quick-healing - she was right - it took me a day or so for normal vision to return, and after a week or two, everything was back to normal (thank god!). That 5 hours in the waiting room was the most intensely painful, harrowing experience I've ever been through! Well, it could have been a lot worse - I could easily have lost my eye!

Sequel: About six-months later, I was visiting the same friend, and as usual the bird was out. Well, the bird flew at me a couple of times, and my friend said that he would put the bird in his cage… but he never did…

Eventually the bird flew at my face, and I swatted it to the ground - and killed it… It was an instinctive,
natural reaction, and of course I left at once - I did receive a phone call from the owner of the bird saying
that if I ever came to his house again, he would "…put my lights out…" - I did point out to him that his bird had very nearly succeeded in doing just that…

I sent him a letter apologising for the loss of the bird…

The guy hasn't spoken to me to this day…

You kill a mad bird and to this day they bend your wipers and send you hate mail? It's a fargin' bird! Get a new bird! If it was a dog, it would've been put down for attacking you! Some people hold on to hate like it was gold.
