what is going on in public school!?!

hello everyone. i am posting in search of some opinions on a very relevent topic in my high school. bomb threats. my school has had 9 bomb threats since september. we go into school and about half way in, we get a bomb threat and are outside for two hours. once we got evacuated to a local college, i didnt get on the bus though me and my freinds left school and got picked up. it was a disaster they where at the college untill about 5 and kids had no ride home becasue of pearents at work, so they bused them back and they had to walk home in the rain. i have been lucky enough to be picked up from most of these. but today, we had another one, that isnt happeneing. my mom came to the school with my freinds father to pick the both of us up, to be stopped by a cop and told that they cannot take their children. the cop said that he is in control of the kids untill the situation is over. this is while i am in the gymnasium of the school(yes the school that supposed to have a bomb in it) so my mom says to this guy, you have my son in the school and the whole school isnt cleared. and he comes back with what do you know about bombs. so she says, yea and they sent people back into the other world trade center and look what happened. immediatly 2 other cops came and took the both of them outside, and up against a fence trying to seem intimitading said that not one wasnt getting their kid. lawful? i dont know. rediculas? in my eyes, yes. our supernindentant(spelt wrong)is suspended for 120 days, why? he ignored 4 bomb threats during our midtrem exams. that makes me feel really good knowing this guy is really looking after us.

what do you guys think of this, i find it to be totally rediculas.

When a bomb threath takes place the school duties is to evaluate such treats. They have to inform faculty, parents and students of such a treath. My kid's school have dismissed all faculty and students for a "low risq" threat.. even knowing it was a prank again.. because there could be a chance someday that it won't be a prank even after evaluation. A bomb threat even as a prank is punishable up to seven years in prison and police inforcement can also seek reimbursement for the cost of having extra men power on the site evaluating or making sure all goes well... what do I think? I think it should be treated as a serious matter of course.

I think cops that intimidate parents while their kids could possibly be in danger aren't doing their job. After 9 bomb threats, maybe they should try to find the pranker instead of roughing up parents.

I would check some laws out, a parent has the right to check there student out at any time, it doesnt matter if the school is on fire.

I don't quite understand the thinking behind evacuating for bomb threats. no one puts a bomb in a school and waits so the whole school can evacuate before it goes off. Anyone who goes through the trouble of building an actual bomb is going to be smart enough to make sure it goes off when ever he wants. And what do they mean by bomb? its a fuzzy term at best, theres a big difference between firecrackers and C4

have you ever heard of a bomb threat evacuation in the united states that successfully saved lifes.?

this is what has alot of people around here steaming. they are doing nothing. the princpal's explanation to this, when my father spoke to him was "these kids are crazy." anad my family comes from the inner city, i live in a nice quite middle class neighboorhood.

there is a law that they mentioned that deals exactly with kids in this sitiation. we checking on that tommorow.

when we got back in, we had class but every thirty seconds there was an anouncement for people to come to the office to leave(everyone was soaked)so if the teachers had something planned, they were not able to do it. for the rest of the day i played cards/slept/talked to freinds.

yea, i am not the best speller.

I went to a school overpopulated with Hispanic gangster folks in 7th grade and of course there was a regular bomb threat every month. We evacuated most of the time but after a certain number they got ignored. Maybe they caught the culprit. Maybe they didn't. Its terrible how people could interupt education like that.

Good luck with the rest of your year. Hope its more stable because thats not how school really is.

My mom told me the other day that the superindendent got suspended, but she couldn't find out why, funny how I find out on Bike Forums. Where do you go, North or SOuth? And I wouldn't worry about any bomb threats, nobody in this towns got the balls to pull that off...

What have the police done in terms of tracing the calls for the bomb threats? I know when we had one at my high school years ago they found out about a day later where the call came from. Turned out the idiot:

    Went to gas station
    Filled up with gas
Left car at pump, which had it's license plate in full view of the security camera.
    Went to payphone
    Phoned in bomb threat
    Got in car
    Drove away

north, south has had a couple but not as bad as us. although they did have a lock down and had to go under the desks in the corner of the room with the lights off. . .

i know no one has the guts to pull it, but then again columbine goes through my head and i am thinking anything is possible.

there has only been one call placed so far. the rest have been written threats. it started in the bathrooms so they only opened one bathroom(i find that really dirty, not that i use them anyway) so the kids started writting them in the hallways. i am not sure how the last one was found. we have had cops all over the place lately since our security guards are fat old guys/gals. the cops stop everyone who is late and ask them what they are doing in the halls.
