so freaking unmotivated...

I don't know what's going on. Could be the weather or something else, but I can seem to do squat when I get home from work. I meant to come home and run, go to the bookstore, then make dinner, then do some cleaning. Instead I grabed a few blankets and made a sandwich and watched a movie. Wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't doing something similar every freaking day.

Feels like I'm stuck in some kind of funk. And not the fun kind of funk, either.

I think I'm going to grab another blanet and go to sleep.

There's no real point to this thread.

Don't you hate those funks? Are you coming down with a cold? I usually am pretty low energy just before a cold comes on...bleh. At least you have energy to cruise BF! look on the bright side....!

This happens to me in the depths of every winter. Like you, when I come home from work, I should go and work out, clean the house, do my homework right away, etc., but I'm so tired that I take a nap instead. I used to think that Seasonal Affective Disorder was, well, kind of bunk...it sounded like a lot of whining to me, but now I'm starting to wonder. Funk pretty much describes the feeling. We'll be in a funk together, explody. I'll tell you how my naps go if you tell me how the movies and sandwiches are.

Movies:
1. 2nd half of Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit - Cute, but I'll never watch it again.
2. Saints and Soldiers - hamfisted and a general waste of time.

Sandwich:
Oven roasted turkey, provalone, and spring garden mix on an onion roll with Sriracha chili sauce = delicious.

The naps are good. I have to put my alarm clock on the other side of the room, however, because if I sleep too long, I actually feel groggy when I get up. I love Wallace and Gromit, but I still love the short films (The Wrong Trousers, A Grand Day Out, etc.) more than the Were-Rabbit. For some reason, I am endlessly amused by the were-rabbit's teeth, however. That sandwich sounds *really* good....feeling hungry now...

Nap, then mainline some espresso! I find I get more done by writing things down in my daily-planner. I don't have to schedule it hour-by-hour, but just having a to-do list priortized by importance helps me keep going. Just do one item, check it off, then do the next. Things that aren't done gets moved over to the next day, then I add a couple more items for that next day. It only takes 5-minutes, but makes me much, much more productive. I get a lot more done before noon, then I have the rest of the day to goof off and ride and drink and eat and be merry...

To quote Office Space: "It's not that I'm lazy; it's that I just don't care." I got my to-do list, I just don't look at it when I get ready to take my nap.

after work is a tough time to plan stuff. i'm usually pretty drained by the time i get home. luckly we've had really warm weather this winter so i feel compelled to ride and not waste it.

best advice i can give you: don't turn on the TV when you get in. you'll just end up getting comfortable and it will be so much harder to go out for a ride. when you get home change into your cycling clothes and fill up your water bottle and just go. don't sit down to relax, it just makes it more difficult.

Maybe you have the winter blues even though it nice outside. I think if you write down what you want to acheive for the day that it should help you keep to your agenda.
Don't worry once it gets warmer you won't want to be in the house sleeping and watching movies.
Also I think everyone feels this way at one time or another.

Hopefully its a weather thing. I've been unmotivated for about 1/4 of a year now but my problem is due to a failure to working for 7+ years and failing to find a balance in life

Yes, I realize that now when it's too late.

I've been that way the last couple of weeks. The weather here was so nice in Dec. and Jan. I got spoiled. Now that Feb. decided to be more normal for winter I'm feeling down.

brain bullet

the re-motivater. it actually works

all you do is use your pc normally and subliminals
flash every few seconds. pump in cycling and
strength affirmations and over the days you
will remotivate to whatever you 'affirm'

Go find a bottle of Extra Strength Asbirin (hot sauce), down the entire bottle.
http://www.firegirl.com/hs1335.html

Go to the restroom in utter pain.

When done I am sure no matter how bad you feel, you will at least be looking at the silver lining "at least I got all that f*$*^%&$ Asbirin out of me".

(please don't take this seriously....that stuff can probably eat through a car hood....if you take Asbirin, take it sparingly )

Blah, I'm out of steam for the day myself. Started off good, hit the gym since the weather sucks this week, but think I hit it too hard. Only 7:10pm and I'm out of steam with 3 hours of the day left. Blarg.

Liz, you're freaking me out. What did you do? Drink too much coffee?

By the way, so you gonna do NaNoEdMo (is that the appropriate capitalization?) soon?
