the smoke from burning motor oil

I doubt this smoke is good for you, but can it be considered toxic?

But it does build character. Deisel exhaust also smells like hot buttered bread when I am hungry.

There is nothing that makes me sick, faster, than diesel exhaust.

Correct me if I'm wrong(but I don't think so!), but I do believe that all smoke is carcinogenic. Some more than others, of course.

two-stroke is the best damn smelling smoke in the world...even if it is the most polluting internal combustion fuel.

Ummmmm.... roasted castor bean oil coming from a finely tuned two-stroke. Music to the ears and a banquet for the olfactory.

In respond to the OP (instead of the random diesel hijacking that seems to be occurring):

If it's clean motor oil than it's "merely" toxic. Probably not a lot more so than a lot of other smokes. Oil smoke probably has a lot more carbon monoxide than some kinds of smoke.

If it's used motor oil, it's more toxic and it is carcinogenic. Motor oil in a car engine picks up a lot of crap, including any/all of the following metals: steel, iron, lead, copper, aluminum. It contains gasoline byproducts as well as fancy new compounds produced by the combination of heat and combustion gases.
