Video Camera

I'm looking to buy a cheap video camera for riding. I want to get the helmet cam hook up and just record myself riding, you know hook it up and throw the camera in my pack. I'm curious as to what brands I should look for and what type of input I should be looking for to see if the helmet cam will hook up to it. Thanks
