Video #3 - a big cattle truck passing us in the blizzard on the way home..

video #4 - video of the train de-railment...

Whoa, awesome pics!! Thanks for posting them free_pizza. Looks like you had lots of fun! It also looks like there weren't that many people on the slopes... at least less than what I've seen here in Oregon.

Very cute kitty BTW

I know i know.. It was my friend, he bought a pile of beer before picking me up from the airport, a bunch of coors lite, and a bunch of labatt lite. Yeahhh, i think ill be choosing the coors!!

Wouldve taken guinness along, but its not a good idea to drink guinness out of a can, and bottles are out of the question for obvious reasons.

To make up for it though, there was a lot of Rickards consumed (see picture ), and a fair amount of Guinness at the pub in Banff. Thats the first time ive heard of/tried Rickards Pale. Im not sure why they call it pale when it looks the exact same as Rickards Red, but it was REALLY good stuff!

Not as much as i would like, usually once a year. Went to lake Louise in 2002, Fernie in 2003, missed 2004, Fernie in 2005, and Banff this year. I might try get out again before the season is over. April long weekend might be a good time to get out, but it might be a zoo with all the poeple trying to get their last skiing of the year in. Sunshine closes mid-may, so i might try get out at the very end of april/early may with my girlfriend. She is an incredible skier. She grew up skiing down a mountain to get to school.

Sounds like a fun way to school but would suck coming home

"I walked 3000 vert ft home in 20ft of snow every day"....

I just started skiing and can say I am addicted. Good times indeed. I suck at skiing, but another 50 days up the mountain and I should be good to go

Video #3 - a big cattle truck passing us in the blizzard on the way home..
These guys are the biggest a-holes on the road. The Mounties really need to do a crack down on them. It's not uncommon to see one of these guys 5 feet off the bumper of some little car already doing 120, trying to force them to either get out of the way or go faster. But driving like that in a blizzard is just nuts.

By the looks of the pics you were here last week? There were several days when there were tow bans in effect (if you went in the ditch, nobody would be coming to get you) and travel was strongly discouraged. You timed it just right -- you got all the fresh powder and unlimited skiing with no crowds. Me on the otherhand, I've been sitting on my a$$ all week trying to get rid of this killer head cold thats going around Calgary. Hope you didn't take it back home with you

(nice pics by the way!)

yep, it was thursday/friday/saturday. The storm we hit was in Swift Current, so im not sure if they had Tow bans in Sask. Never heard of a tow ban to be honest.

So how many laws did you break? Woulda been about 10 down here in the states. Then again, it's sort of against the law to have fun down here.

I thought drinking Coors in Canada was illegal and punishable by death?
