I killed a cat...

Delivering pizzas, on some wide street, I all the sudden see this cat run right in front of me. It happened so fast I had no time to react. I guess I swerved but the cat ended up under my car. All I remember is to real hard thumps, then some lady screaming "oh my gosh the cat!".

Apparently I had drug the poor cat 30 feet and now it was a horrible mess . I drove up the street freaking out, and came back. I saw this little girl sobbing on the side of the road, I could see me in her. When I was little someone ran over my cat, and I cried for days.

To make matters worse, the cat looked just like my cat that I saved from a box on the side of the road. Lets just say I started crying right there, and cried for about 2 hours... and my boss was not helpful... get over it, it was just a stupid cat...

I hope there is a cat heaven out there somewhere...

Mandy

Why bother? I'd just take it home, deep fry it, and ask the little girl if she wanted some.

Apparently your boss isn't the only unhelpful one, Mandy.

I feel bad if I hit a raccoon or a possum. I put my car in a ditch once trying to avoid a cat and wound up killing the poor thing anyway.

Sometimes it just can't be helped. I'm sorry it happened to you.

Why? Crows may be one of the smartest animals on the planet.

Why would anyone want to deliberately kill? You guys are coming back as roadkill, be careful what you wish for...

Crows,Ravens, and Jays are the same bird. Different regions, different appearance, same genus/species/type.

Sort of like people. Asian/Caucasian/African are the same bird, too.

Nearly everything that is funny is based off of tradgedy. Just the same, stacey and I are certainly being ******.

On the subject of crows, they are indeed very smart. When you hunt them, usually they will send a couple of scouts down from the high above flock if they get fooled by the decoys and you calling them in. The thing is, they are very aware of the range capabilities of a shotgun. That is why I now shoot at them with a scoped semi automatic .22 and a 50 round magazine. I scored a hit once at over 200 yards that way.

I haven't seen them except in California, but raven's do seem even smarter. The first time I saw raven's they were feasting on a dead seal on the San Francisco coast. I looked one of them in the eye and I must admit it was among the most creepy things I have ever seen.

I'm sorry you went through that Put a set of these on your car and you'll at least feel you've taken a step to improve your chances of seeing unexpected stuff coming from the sides next time:

i've killed one cat, one deer, and innumerable frogs. i've learned you have no control over what runs out in front of you; in each case, there was no way i could aviod hitting the animal(s). you just need to accept it's not your fault.

I hit a dog once in the middle of Georgia on Rt 301, damned thing just ran up the enbankment
and in front of me, not a thing I could do about it.
Mandy, the responsibility is the owners, not yours. The cat should not have been
out running around, end of story. I know it doesn't help but it is the truth
when it comes down to brass tacks.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe you pizza delivery people can slow down instead of speeding through the neighborhoods and running stop signs.

What does smartness have to do with wanting to kill something?

I HATE crows, i will always hate them, they're arrogant loud mouth idiots. They scare other birds away, they woke me up at 6am EVERY beeping day. Put one on the road in front of me and i would run it over for sure.

Call me a 'murderer' but if i recall correctly it was a murder of crows in the first place.

I've hit a few animals in my time including a kangaroo. I'll swerve to avoid any animal except foxes and rabbits. I'll actually chase them to get them. I hit a crow in the middle of the road once. Rolled straight over it. Looked in my mirror to see it shake itself off and just fly away. Also had a full sized owl swoop down into the front bull bar of my car once. Presumably it thought the car was something it might like to eat.
